Hi! Please tell us how your project is going?
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 7. aug. kl. 20:41
I did! Perhaps the best Rimworld DLC so far and injecting great new mechanics and replayability.

I'll look into updating this mod for 1.6 in the next few weeks, although I'm worried the new "geographical features" feature will make this somewhat complex.

sooo did ya like it? :<
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 14. juli kl. 3:53
I'mma play 1.6 for a bit first.

Please update to 1.6

Please make a mod, but with more dense vegetation! Please, please!
Kuzako_Avali 6. nov. 2024 kl. 14:08
@Kita I solved this issue by moving this mod to the bottom of my load order, only above Rocketman
Kita 6. nov. 2024 kl. 12:48
no trees at the game start? is it a bug or they will grow over time?
Kuzako_Avali 23. okt. 2024 kl. 16:34
@Makaru Ok, so oddly enough, when I was having my previously mentioned issue I was using RimPY and its auto-sort function. Re-adding it I decided to try different load orders. At the very bottom it spawned 1 base for each faction, above everything it works perfectly.
Kuzako_Avali 23. okt. 2024 kl. 13:12
I get a couple errors, I'll share in a bit. Not sure if any relate to this specifically as I am running close to 500 mods
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 23. okt. 2024 kl. 4:01
@Lethal Birb are there any errors or logs related to this you can share? I'm not seeing this in any of my games so I assume this is mod related.
Kuzako_Avali 22. okt. 2024 kl. 23:00
Having an issue with this enabled, causes no plants to generate on any maps
Chonco 19. apr. 2024 kl. 17:28
Yay thank you!!
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 18. apr. 2024 kl. 4:19
Updated to v 1.5.

Please enjoy!

CTH2004 3. apr. 2023 kl. 12:31

ROZNE GRY 24. jan. 2023 kl. 7:37
Getting this small error in the Hugs log:

[Fertile Planet] Patch operation Verse.PatchOperationSequence(count=51, lastFailedOperation=Verse.PatchOperationReplace(/Defs/BiomeDef[defName="TropicalSwamp"]/wildPlants/Plant_TreeMaple)) failed

Nathan1852 4. nov. 2022 kl. 14:27
@Makaru putting Fertile Planet before the VanillaXXX mods in my modlist fixed the issue
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 4. nov. 2022 kl. 14:07
Thanks Nathan1852, I've checked out your gist and tested this with the specific error (Tropic Swamp), and I can't reproduce the error sorry.

I notice from your gist that you have a significant number of mods, some which affect Biomes (More Vanilla Biomes), and it sounds like you might be loading an existing map? So there may be some deeper incompatibility there unfortunately.
Nathan1852 4. nov. 2022 kl. 13:19
Adding this mod to my modlist and loading a save sadly loads an empty map.

Updated to support vers. 1.4.

Fertility, plant and biome changes do not effect any of the polluted/toxic plants and areas.
eldifosi 1. nov. 2022 kl. 2:32
@Makaru Whoa thank you for the response! hope you doing well
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 30. okt. 2022 kl. 16:34
@eldifosi - Yes I will, hoping to have this updated in the next few days.
eldifosi 27. okt. 2022 kl. 3:32
Sorry for asking, will you update it to 1.4?
Trajda 1. okt. 2021 kl. 5:56
@Makaru

There are some mod conflicts between Fertile Planet and the RimUniverse mod. Here is the worst one.

Luckily, RimUniverse is not that popular, and I am going to switch Fertile Planet with Choose Wild Plant Spawns which hopefully solves my problems. So it is up to you if you want to do something about this mod conflict.

Have a nice day.
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 9. sep. 2021 kl. 16:03
Thanks, it must be a mod conflict somewhere. Is there any debug log error when this occurs?
daviddklb 8. sep. 2021 kl. 15:58
i also had a map with no vegetation, it was also a boreal forest biome.

here is my modlist in case it helps: https://gist.github.com/kunwon1/880f8bd3b7790757e2cf6667b5a7364a

removing fertile planet allowed me to have a boreal forest map with trees again

just posting this trying to help, not complaining, thank you for the work you do <3
evilgiraffe666 2. sep. 2021 kl. 14:33
I also had a map with no vegetation - probably a conflict rather than just this but i'll try disabling it. I have Grazing Lands and lots of the Regrowth mods so I'm not surprisedif there's a conflict!
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 19. aug. 2021 kl. 16:55
No, sorry, it only patches the Vanilla biomes.
Bored 19. aug. 2021 kl. 12:04
Hello does this mod work on modded biomes? thanks!
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 12. aug. 2021 kl. 16:21
Hi @SailorDrew, I've played a number of 1.3 games now, both Vanilla and heavily modded, and I have not been able to recreate this issue sorry.
SailorDrew 11. aug. 2021 kl. 20:47
Today I'm having that same problem, where I started a new colony and all of the vegetation is gone. I took off mod manager and tried other mod combos, but it's just this one that seems to be doing it.
Name 30. juli 2021 kl. 3:26
I don't know how but this mod caused vanishing of every plant and tree in boreal forest. Biome just became INFERTILE (:D) at all. Maybe its because of conflicts with regrowth mentioned in comments below. I changed this mod to "deads dense biomes" and flora returned to normal again. Just for the record, I use RimPy mod manager.
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 18. juli 2021 kl. 16:58
@trajda this is certainly possible/logical, but i'm not 100% sorry. The XML patching functions are built into Core, or more likely the underlying C++ XML library, so I have no visibility or control of how the engine works if a patching error occurs.
Trajda 17. juli 2021 kl. 23:23
@Makaru

Looks like Wild Cultivation also doesn't have patches for ReGrowth, So I'll return to Fertile Field/Wild Cultivation combination, but here's a thing.

When I had both ReGrowth and RimUniverse higher than Fertile Fields, only one error occurs, not two. I would like to keep RimUniverse and I would like to put Fertile Field lower, so Fertile Field can patch everything it can, except for things it cannot. But I am afraid that Fertile Field has some safety measures "if you cannot patch one thing, do not patch anything." That would explain, why I have seen only one error, not two.

Does it make sense? Is it possible?
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 17. juli 2021 kl. 16:56
Thanks @trajda,

If other mods (Like Regrowth) completely overwrite or significantly change biomes then there will likely be a conflict or issue; or if placed last in the load order, it is likely any patch operations doen by Fertile Planet will likely be completely overwritten anyway.

All this mod does is update specific value of vanilla biomes' definitions to tweak the data to be more "fertile". I've looked at the debug logs provided and I can't see how those specific errors would be occurring, as there are many similar patch operations which are run (ie: there is nothing special/different about the specific changes which are failing).
Trajda 17. juli 2021 kl. 1:07
@Makaru

Despite your mod description says otherwise, this mod is not compatible with ReGrowth Core, neither with RimUniverse Biomes. I thought you might want to know. Fertile Fields doesn't show any errors if put higher than these two mods, but does Fertile Field actually do something if Regrowth comes after it and rewrites completely every biome? I guess not.

update for 1.3 plz <3
Mad Derp Packer 21. jan. 2021 kl. 16:47
I think you should try to reorder the placement of this mod with the terrain generation ones. I have that problem in 1.1. Dunno if it will work this time
rocky_feo 20. jan. 2021 kl. 22:32
Hi, I'm finding that at the moment, this mod is causing all of my new maps to spawn with absolutely no vegetation on them. I can't find any related errors in the logs, and I've tried it both at the start and end of my load order. I expect it's a clash with another mod, but I have a lot, and no idea where to start narrowing it down. Any ideas?
whitespacekilla 13. dec. 2020 kl. 23:57
@Flypaste: I disagree/Makaru's right, there's a conflict between Regrowth and this mod. With both installed, several biomes will have the same plants added to them multiple times. This will break the "TreeDensity" property of every biome (it has a cache method that can't handle the same wildplant more than once in the definition). The biggest problem this causes is with the BorealForest biome. Rimworld is smart enough to check and see if you have the materials available on the map before issuing you monument quests and it dynamically compares your map to a boreal forest biome as far as tree density to see if you can build a wooden monument fairly. Since the boreal forest can't calculate tree density, every quest of this type is borked (and maybe some others).
Sorrydough 4. nov. 2020 kl. 20:25
There is no conflict, but it needs a specific load order to avoid the error
Makaru  [ophavsmand] 4. nov. 2020 kl. 17:00
RE: ReGrowth or any other biome-modifying mods, there is a likely chance this mod will have potential conflicts.
Sorrydough 4. nov. 2020 kl. 4:27
I messed around with my load order and it fixed itself, but I'm not sure how or why because I wasn't trying to fix this error. I was trying to fix a different one. But I suspect it's related to one of the ReGrowth mods. Krill also has the ReGrowth mods. So my problem is solved, but I don't have any further information regarding preventing it from happening again or solving it for anyone else.
