Damnit potato laptop can't handle higher graphics so my map looks like a bunch of squiggly lines to a dyslexic child

OK... As it says, you need quill, inkwell and leather and then you'll be able to make Skyrim maps at the tanning rack. Only leather is needed to make copies of treasure maps. I've found that maps are barely visible when used as intended (i.e. in the hand) only a small part of the map is visible. However, I have discovered that the best when you need to see the map is to drop it and then crouch above it in first person.

Where does one find maps of skyrim to copy? Or, how does one craft those like in the pics?

This is really good. The only thing is, the maps need to be a bit higher on the hand and more to the player's left, if its possible for that adjustment to be made.

seriously? so many people are saying "you need a player waypoint on it" you HAVE a map with the player waypoint on it. The whole reason i downloaded this map mod was to USE the map to work out exactly where i was by landmarks and such. A waypoint on it would ruin it, defeats the whole point of your character having a map in game.

I have yet to find a single quill or inkwell anywhere, even after hundreds of hours of playtime. :/

I love this mod so much! How ever I cannot see the whole map. Could you fix that? Like scale down the modle a bit. Or move it a little farther away from the player?

i subscribed but the mod doesnt show up on my data files but when i startthe launcher it checks for newer versions of it.

Also, it'd be nice if it would just put a little x, or some other marker on the map whenever you find something significant.

I would be SO grateful if you could add maps for each of the major cities. I've disabled my compass/map completely, and am just using this in place of it. It's difficult to find my way in town though, without any map of any kind.

Na, but I have a bunch of others. I might give it another try sometime and let you know if I find some other random conflict.

@EVERYONE; some times merchants have quills and inkwells. plus they are commonly found in the world in structures [keeps,houses,dungeons,etc] wherever there is a desk. not always, yet common.

I went for leather, as paper is often quite elusive! - there is a quill and ink inside breezehome next to the alchemy table...

Why not use a roll of paper rather than leather...? Meh whatever, awesome mod nonetheless ^^

Excellent mod. One thing, anyone has any idea where to find the quill and inq? Appart from the college, where i can't enter because i have not enought magika for the test spell (just started the game again)
And maybe an idea. Doing a very basic version of the map, "ulgy" drawing made not from ink and with quill but with some dry flower powder blended with water or oil? Like primitive maps. Cause it's harder to find ink than gold on the ground.

@bozance In the Arcaneam (College Library) On the orcs counter.. he has a quill (pen) and Inkwell.

can someone pls tell me if anyone in the world has a pen and ink? those are harder to find than the most elusive treasures

new update now includes Reachmen, Dragon Burials and Shipping maps ... with initial 'harvesting' support (activate an item in world to get the map, rather than crafting)
