The resting ones are usually placed to the side of the plane stand (near the front), or where ever large numbers of vehicles are parked. Though, if the support crew is lazy, they might leave them sitting infront of the plane. The other variant that I posted is the type that would need to be connected to a pushback.

It would be great if you include also simple screenshots to show how and where to place it in a realistic way. From a non-expert in airports is difficult to know where to place all your props.
