Yes, the game engine indeed has a limit but there isn't for mega mob spawns. I did try it on my server, not only did it hurt, it was fun to play with.

There was another mod that did it and it worked fine in both multiplayer and singleplayer. However the creator removed the mod after like 3 years for some reason.

There's actually a hard limit in the engine on how many infected can be on screen at a time. You'd have to modify the EXE file directly and change some binary values to accomplish this. Good luck with that, and good luck not getting banned outright on boot.

It's neat but it would be good if you'd increase the common infected spawn size and limit. 300 zombie horde is neat to have, a challenge in itself.

You see, the thing about that is, that's the intended result of all of these, especially the Realism based mode from The Realism Collection that had the infection system (which I forget the original addon I used this system from, but I did modify it a bit). The problem is I've found basically no documentation on L4D2 Mutation coding, so I've never figured out how to disable bots, I just use the "kick" command that is able to be used when host and it doesn't affect achievements either. That's my recommendation until I come around to fully learning this system now that I'm actually competent programming wise. :)

It's not a scripted Special Infected to tell the game to spawn specifically a Charger or something, it's random, but it spawns a Special Infected at all times.

I recall in both games, when you go down 2 times, the screen does that monochrome thing, and then the next time you're incapped, you die. Then again, I played the GOTY edition of L4D1, not the original... Also, I have tried Rayman... he wasn't helpful at all. I was given a link to an abstract Valve tutorial (which I'm sure you know are extremely useless), and a "Good luck."

As I've wrote before, I changed other cvar commands that influence incapacitation. Besides that one below, I also changed the total incap health from 300 to 500, safe fall damage from 500 something to 700 and fatal fall damage from 700 something to 900, 2 time to be incapacitated before death to now 3 times (just like in l4d1), and finally when survivors are rescued from the closet you automatically be equipped with a Tier 2 gun instead of Tier 1.

I don't think you could do that with cvar commands, but you can try that out with plugins or vscripts. You can always ask Rayman1103 (if he even responds that is lol) for help with coding mutations since he claims to be an expert and has made lots of official mutations himself. However, there is a cvar command that changes how much temporary health you have upon being revived from incapacitation - I changed it from default 30 to 50.

Okay, this stuff sounds useful... Could you make a system to where if you're in that monochrome phase, if you have a defibrilator in your inventory (or hand even), when you get hit with an attack that would normally kill you, reset your health to like, 50 temporary points still in the monochrome state?

Of course I also decided to change and add other cvar commands being the OCD person that I am. I made the specials more powerful, commons weaker, guns with more ammo, healing items being more effective, less time to do stuff requiring the use key, making incapicitation last more times and longer and less likely to occur, and changed other variables that I can't remember. But sadly levels take longer to load because of all the commands I inputted. Sorry for posting this but there's a 1000 character limit to these comments.

A ♥♥♥♥ ton of different commands, but mostly starting in sb_ as those mostly control bot behavior. I went to the Valve wiki site and then used the cvars list as a reference. Basically, I gave the bots some "free" will to not make them sheep, allow them to beat campaigns without humans (with some exceptions), reduced their reaction time to saving teammates from specials, not shooting through human players.

Also, sticking closer together and warping from closer distances, allowing multiple bots to use melee and approach zombies, and increasing their "senses" to better kill specials and commons from far. Yeah, that was a mouthful but if I listed literally all the commands I used, you'd probably not get it anyways. Oh, and I input all cvar commands and some admin commands into a cvars.txt file so they get auto executed at start of every level.

In fact for admin system you can even input cvar and console commands into admin system without needing the console or turning on cheat codes. That's how I'm able to make the bots as smart as veteran players (for the most part) without editing vscripts.

just note that the values can be changed beyond the binary of 0 and 1 for those commands

Any Special Infected (even Commons) can be scripted to be different in certain campaigns. I forget which game it was, but Roku used custom Tanks in one of his Resident Evil "classic trilogy" campaigns.

I keep Steam open at all times and I just so happened to be at my laptop at the moment... So your welcome. If you find any bugs don't hesitate to mention them (besides the fact that some maps break). And I have a collection of Mutations that in my opinion, make the game a bit easier, or realistic (or add a nice challenge like my "Real Game Package" that I released the other day).

I highly disagree. Last night I was playing with a few people on Expert trying to complete that achievement finally, and here I come 80% health after just healing, I'm a safe distance away compared to the dude right next to her, she runs away from him and just tears me to shreds, killing me instanly... I could care less if the Witch existed in the game, much less the tank.

But I don't mind the Tanks and Witch. Especially the Witch.
I mean come on. I love the Witch. Despite the infection, she's beautiful. And all she wants is to be loved

The tanks don't spawn but here's the issue with that, if you load up for example the Resident Evil 2 A campaign, it is scripted to allow you to continue ONLY if the tank has spawned at some point so, this can break the game entirely...
