I'm from Forney and didn't even know this existed!
thomas.ahernandez 30.5.2022 klo 6.47
i love this asset but it never gets oil delivieries no matter where i place it
hillfanthomlike10 16.9.2021 klo 6.10
thank you

@mizrael77 i think doel nuclear beats this bro, .
.
mizrael77 28.3.2021 klo 9.29
5 years later and this is still the best power station in the game. Realistic, easy to build while remaining realistic, scalable, adequate production.

Natural Gas Combustion Turbine stat:
Power output: 228MW
Upkeep: 2682

Natural Gas Combined Cycle stat:
Power output: 456MW
Upkeep 5365

Why the actual stat is not match the table?
Jon Carbuncle 20.2.2020 klo 7.31
heck yeah, this is the perfect thing to place next to my elementary school which is conveniently located in a floodplain with my residential neighborhood.

very nice work!

I found the wikipedia article for this power station: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forney_Energy_Center
Neoba 24.7.2019 klo 10.10
that means you have oil power plants, you cant have more then one of a power plant that uses ore, oil, etc.
Driver Kaldie 17.7.2019 klo 4.49
It doesn't work for me...Somewhere it says it needs oil-deliveries. If it needs deliveries why isn't natural gas implanted in the game as a resource ?
kamil 14.5.2019 klo 6.32
cool

The up-front construction cost IRL is actually less than nuclear. A 955 MW Natural Gas plant only costs about 900 Million USD. It's cheaper than Solar and Wind even.

Nuclear is super-cheap too, just not in the US or Europe cause we screwed up our industry and regulations. South Korea though... they do awesome at it.
GhostBirdofPrey 15.7.2018 klo 18.46
@Badi_Dea do you know of any assets on the workshop that resemble the cooling units (at least I assume that's what they are) behind the real power plant in Forney?
Toemad 1.6.2018 klo 13.54
what are the gas tanks in the background called?
Badi_Dea  [tekijä] 4.4.2018 klo 8.41
I'd imagine it's just a door to bring large equipment and machines into the facility, not too sure - they're present on the real thing

@Badi-Dea : Hey mate, what's the little building at the entrance? Just wanted to recreate what you've done here. Thanks!
AbuUmar71206 19.2.2018 klo 6.37
best E-Assets out there and thank you for creating this :)
Neoba 15.12.2017 klo 23.45
Im lost for words for how good this is!
Turjan 1.9.2017 klo 15.41
Thanks for the quick info!
Badi_Dea  [tekijä] 1.9.2017 klo 15.36
Thanks all! Yes, this does need oil deliveries.
Turjan 1.9.2017 klo 15.29
This is a very nice asset. One question: does this need oil deliveries?
SuburbanSean 12.8.2017 klo 12.54
I love how accurate this is! It looks almost identical to the real one! I live about 10-20 minutes away from the one this is modeled after! (I live so close I can see the smoke from the plant)
sander:) 9.12.2016 klo 4.31
You're assets quallity are as good a ngons, Keep up the great work!
-phresh4k 18.11.2016 klo 5.02
very. very nice! gonna fill out my water treatment area with these
Overlord 3.11.2016 klo 17.59
@Badi_Dea thank you for explanation :)
Badi_Dea  [tekijä] 3.11.2016 klo 14.49
@Overlord : That's just a unit value in the editor, it doesn't necessarily translate into a currency amount 1:1. For example, the stock Nuke plant with no mods actually has a maintenance cost of 50,000.
http://i.imgur.com/tzEdKcn.png

I don't have an exact currency amount for the costs of this building since there are so many mods that could change it, I figured it be best just to list what I put in the editor.
The cost value for these buildings is the same as the nuke plant per unit of electricity generated.
Overlord 3.11.2016 klo 11.47
The maintenance is really 33 530 ? I mean that is heavy hit on balance if you are not playing with unlimited money mod. Nuclear plant costs 8000 and electricity produced by this is not bad.
Mr.Zombie 26.10.2016 klo 10.33
Thanks, I am going to use this and that in my city.
Badi_Dea  [tekijä] 26.10.2016 klo 8.29
Mr.Zombie 25.10.2016 klo 20.08
Does this come with those power lines in the first picture?
PHTN 23.10.2016 klo 19.14
Nice, i need this asset for my large power plant and harbor project. Yay! :steamhappy:
Casgar 23.10.2016 klo 11.57
@Badi_Dea : Appreciated!

I really like these power plants, and the oil refinery looks interesting too. More distinct (and bigger than 4x4) assets is always welcomed. Keep up the good work!
Badi_Dea  [tekijä] 23.10.2016 klo 9.19
@Casgar & @ololololol : Alright, I'll move it up in the priority list - a team of us at Simtropolis are working on an oil refinery I'll find a way to squeeze it into that project, follow the progress here: http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/71613-i-want-to-make-an-oil-refinery-anyone-know-anything-about-the-petroleum-industry/
Casgar 23.10.2016 klo 7.43
I support ololololol's suggestion! The ability to have an asset, or modify an already existing asset to produce both heat and electricity is something that I've wanted for some time. The distribution between electricity:heat is somewhere around 1:2 in most cases, but can vary based on the type of power plant in question. A combined cycle can reach 1:1.

Regarding Combined Cycle, it refers to the use of a gas turbine as its primary power production, and a boiler which uses the hot exaust gas from the gas turbine to produce steam for a steam turbine. It doesn't take into account if you use the waste heat for district heating or not.

An example of a power plant that produces both electricity and district heating in a combined cycle is Rya CHP Plant in Gothenburg, Sweden.

/Random information from a person in the energy sector. :)
ololololol 22.10.2016 klo 14.40
Cool! Thanks!
Badi_Dea  [tekijä] 22.10.2016 klo 12.25
Oh hey, that's not a bad idea! - It would need the sub-building enabled mod to be functional as both power and heating, but totally doable. Probably not going to tackle it with this asset, but I'll throw the idea on to the heap of project plans, thanks!
ololololol 22.10.2016 klo 12.22
I haven't fidled around much with the editor and didn't see a way to do it myself. In real life there many plants (mostly in regions where central heating is needed) where you produce electricity from natural gas, coal, biomass and the heat that is also made in the process is feeded to homes in need of central heating. Would have been nice to have it in the game too, so you don't have to make separate power plants and heating plants.
Badi_Dea  [tekijä] 22.10.2016 klo 12.13
Ah, from what I understand, that is another name for combined-cycle, right?
Since the game doesn't get that detailed, you kinda have to justify it in your head, but the larger module in this asset produces the same polution as the smaller one, they both have only one combustion turbine, but it produces twice the power - the waste heat from the turbine is fed into a traditional steam generator.
ololololol 22.10.2016 klo 12.07
Cogeneration (Combined Heat and Power or CHP) is the simultaneous production of electricity and heat, both of which are used.
Badi_Dea  [tekijä] 22.10.2016 klo 10.12
@ololololol Sure, what is it? lol
OleGloomie 22.10.2016 klo 5.06
Looks absolutely amazing. Outstanding work!
ololololol 22.10.2016 klo 4.57
Cool, would it be possible to make this one into a cogeneration plant?
Chicken Titties 21.10.2016 klo 8.44
i live not to far from this plant
Sparks 21.10.2016 klo 8.19
One of the best assets on the workshop, looks awsome!
I would follow but your profile is private.
