Hello.
At the time jdharrow is not actively modding anymore.

So if anyone else wants to update this mod, do so, but do give credit to JD & link to original mod/mods and also if he asks the person to take it down, it should be removed.

I can't seem to get this working, or the vanilla version to work. Everyone just shows up as rank 9. That messes them up so badly in Valuable Veterans. Anyone have any ideas?

Hey, I love the idea behind this mod, but no matter how I try to get it to work, it doesn't..all regiments of renown are always at rank 9 already when I am trying to recruit them. Could it be that it is no longer working?

I just recruited Gunnison’s War Son’s - (Dwarf Warriors /w Great Weapons) With this and the vanilla effecting version of this mod in play, as well as the dragonfire pass vanilla ones, the vanilla ones started at rank 0, but Gunnisons War Sons started at rank 9. ...This is a bit problematic since I am also using mods that make veterans more worthwile, so a veteran force does much better then a fresh force, and starting at rank 9 means they get no bonuses

Let's say I recruit the Graveclaws, get them to rank 5, then disband them. Will they be at level 5 the next time I recruit them?

***IMPORTANT*** At the moment, several "in-development" RoR's are visible to players in the main mod that aren't truly ready for release either due to balance or bug reasons, these units have been set to recruit at level 99, so they are unplayable at the moment. This is intentional until they are complete

If you know how to use PackFile Manager you can activate them yourself and check them out hint hint, not recommanded as they tend to crash the game as they are not finished or just unbalanced

not sure if it's conflicting mods but the level cap on some ROR are 99.

Thanks Stephince, it sounds like you figured it out in the end. Basically one mod handles the vanilla RoR's (the other one), and this one handles our custom Regiments of Renown! Together, all the RoR's that you can have will gain XP. It's necessary to be set up like this due to the way the tables are set up, hope that helps if there was any confusion.

I added the vanilla XP gain mod and the XP bars are now visible for vanilla RoR. In addtion the missing bullet point is added by that mod. This means i believe that for the 'full' experience all 3 of your mods are needed.

Unless i'm misunderstanding or misinterpreting, this mod doesn't allow vanilla RoR to gain xp. The xp bar is present for your RoR but not the vanilla ones. Should it, or am i doing a dumb and do i need the other XP gain mod for vanilla?

@bambusek - Partially I believe. Most of the compatibility such as melee att, def, leadership, charge def, etc. are in the land_units tables, or melee_weapons/projectiles, which are only modified in the lorehammer compatibility sub-mod, but not here in the xp gain submod (this one only edits 1 table, main_units), so no issues. However the cost of a unit in campaign and mp, and its upkeep, are edited on main_units, so I believe that would be excluded and they'd have vanilla prices/upkeep, but adjusted lorehammer stats, which is the closest they can get without another mod dedicated to doing both, and I'm not keen on the idea of sub-mods for sub-mods. When Lorehammer get update, will this submod work with it as well? I have all previous RoR mods and are curious if compatybility mod works with this one as well.

So prior to the Wood Elf expansion, we only needed this particular mod for ALL RoR to gain XP, but now we need both this one AND vanilla to make all of them gain XP? Not criticizing, just making sure. If so, I'll be sure to subscribe to the link you posted, jdharrow.

@Mega_NOOB - The mod never was meant to make it possible in custom battle, sadly that is hard-coded into the No-Cap world, in the same way that you can adjust rank in multiplayer for the vanilla RoR's only with the No-Cap mod I did. I've considered doing a no-cap for these guys,perhaps it is something I will do in the future, right now very busy with the new additions.

Hi, I have a problem with the mod. The Regiments of Renown cannot gain more xp on custom battles. Is this intentional? Also No Cap mod would be a nice addition.

sadly crashing me at start-up since the last patch. Tested one by one, No CTD without this mod. There were no conflicts before the new patch.

Good mod jdharrow ! However I have a game crash problem since the woodelf update . Even if I only activate the ROR mod and this mod ,the game shut down everytime . Is it just me ?

Working on the Updates for the DLC now for all my mods

It's worth noting that a lot of effort is spent planning and making sure I have the time to invest in updates like this, it isn't easy, as I'm sure you guys can imagine from watching mods die due to lack of updates. Ultimately it can take a lot of time and effort, so please just be patient and I'll have everything running smooth as always as quickly as possible. :) Thanks!

i begin to like that modding thing ;)... tryed to compare the mods. finally i compared with the orig ror mod and it has been found out: i have to watch more how to- vids. :steamsad: .but im glad to hear that you guys got a solution and im looking forward to see how you make i possible. ;). for now my rors just stay rank 9.
btw, your all tabletop mod is a have to in warhammer! =)

@gustlsom - haha yes that's exactly what I mean, your intuition is correct, of course it's not the main lorehammer part but the stat changes in the compatibility patch that override the xp gain.

So I guess it's worth noting that you could have xp gain, but you'll lose the lorehammer compatibility, but we have a solution long-term we think will work well, but it won't be ready for a bit so temporarily it will be an either or..

is it possible that the problem comes direkt from the compatibilitypatch to the lorehammer rors? cause there is a override with the same tables.. but.. dont trust me im a newbie with the pfm.. , so the lorehammer compatibility patch maybe overrides the ror gain xp? im diggin^^.. btw.. love your mods.. awesome work..

Yeah it's a lorehammer compatibility piece due to both making separate changes (this one do, lorehammer stats) for these RoRs, so specifically with this do submod, they aren't truly optimized to work together yet, tho we are working on a solution that will fix this long term

I can't remember what prompted me to ask my questions earlier, but I've been having an issue since the Clan Angrund patch where the RoR's added by your patch don't gain XP - they are stuck at the "fake" level 9 and their stats never improve. I thought it might be a lorehammer compatibility issue.

The majority of the content is in the main mod for Regiments of Renown! (which is why this mod requires the main one). The only difference is that this mod makes them gain XP, and also has the entries for the vanilla RoR's to make sure they gain XP as well.

With so little that can actually go wrong in this mod, being a sub-mod of a custom units mod, it makes me think must be related to one of the tables that they share, its possible its just an optimization error.

At worst they share some identical unique ID on one of the units, so it'll just need to be checked. But thanks for the heads up!

@Clanzzy von Euphoria - Huh, strange I see ur comments on there as well and I genuinely can't imagine... but I'll look into it. It seems very odd for it to only be effected by the XP gain sub-mod, mainly because this mod only modifies 3 tables:
1. land_units
2. main_units
3. ui_unit_bullet_point_unit_overrides

@Dark Computer Science - Yep, this just allows them to gain XP, Valuable Veterans effects how the XP adjusts their stats and such, so they are compatible :)
