Once you have subscribed to the addon launch simple planes, In the main menu you should see a option for mods, Click on mods and you should see GM_Flat island, Click on name to enable the mod, then go back to the main menu and now you should see a new option has come up called mod sandbox maps, Click on it and find GM_flat island now just click it to load the map.

I dont mean a complete remake with textures and such, i just want the city layout and maybe some extra hills around the city for more flying space?

I like the idea of creating a remake of Gm_bigcity, The problem is im not sure if i can use valve content in other games, So i well have to remove a few things from the map. ( Underground Tunnels, Textures, Prop, Models) so the remake will be simplified
As Garrys mod and Simple planes are very different in terms of scaling.
I could also model the buildings in unity Its just the textures well not be the same.
But dont get me wrong im very interested in creating this map.

Where exactly is this island located? How do I get to it?

Thats a problem them as i have no scripting skills, But i found a way to use the props from simple planes in my maps.

Im not sure how to add gun defence to the island, As im new to map making but i will look around on the internet.
