You'll have to do that, or edit the "universe_server.config.patch" file in the Ningen race mod to make it load the Apex ship instead of the Ningen ship. Either way, you'll have to mod the mod.

So I'm guessing manual swapping of the game's ship files would be the only way for something of a similar effect of this to apply to ningen characters then, right?

I would have to edit the Ningen files and re-upload the entire Ningen mod. I don't think it would be okay to redistribute someone else's mod.

Made a new character with this mod installed, Upgraded to tier 4 and then tier 5, still the same old human ship...

It won't crash but things placed in your ship will be floating in space. Remove everything before changing back.

You will have to trigger a ship upgrade to change back though. So you won't be able to do it if you have the last ship.

What if i wanna go back to my mainstream human ship. Can i do so withouth crashing my game?

It shouldn't conflict with them, but it won't replace their ships.

As long as you are offline when the next one happens it should go back to the Apex ship.

That is technically an upgrade. You have to be offline when that happens.

I havent tried upgrading my ship yet. I do play over a Lan connection on a dedicated server. The ship reverted after i did the erchius quest, once i logged off my server and logged back on.

You will have to start a new character to generate a new ship, upgrade it to the max level, and rename the .shipworld files to transfer it to your old character. You could do this with different races already so there isn't much of a reason to use this mod if you're going to do that.

You can use the "/admin" and "/spawnitem shipT8" chat commands to max out the ship on a new character.
