does not work at this point...
Depresso Expresso 11.10.2022 klo 16.19
The opinion modifier is not for you being stronger, its for you being weaker. While you might think that "but their stats are pathetic in all categories compared to me!" It combines the power of all of your subjects, and if that combined power is stronger than you, you get a negative opinion modifier. I have tested this before and made my fleets 10 times stronger in an instant using console commands to see if my hypothesis was correct, and the opinion modifier was wrong. There is no bug, its just a misunderstanding of the mechanics (at least im pretty sure, but i could be wrong but I tested it so i dont think i am)

If you are wondering if this still works.... the answer is yes at lesat to the date I am making this post, it still works
Soldaten_112 25.2.2022 klo 15.34
Does it still work?
Tuxu -=JeepC=- 13.10.2021 klo 10.12
@KinzerRS - It really shows dedication for fixing bugs on PDX's side.
BerryBologna 26.7.2021 klo 15.16
I love how this mod is still going after half a decade
Orinoco 22.7.2021 klo 16.26
I don't think it makes sense, nor does "global power politics" work that way either. So I'm glad I have this mod.
Rüdiger 4.3.2021 klo 5.19
it is not a bug, but a feature. look on how global power politics work. it is a perception bias.
so it is Ok if it is not fixed.
DePa 5.6.2020 klo 12.59
The issue is still present and this mod is still needed. It's insane how after 4 years this bug is still not fixed
Rin Palora 12.4.2020 klo 12.27
As far as I can tell the issue is no longer present.
Catnapping Princess 24.3.2020 klo 15.44
i'm as curious as you
Arson with Lemurs ◕ω◕ 19.3.2020 klo 10.18
Is this issue still present?
Roger 1.10.2019 klo 16.13
works great in 2.3.3
YellowApple 29.12.2018 klo 20.16
PSA: This mod still works perfectly fine on 2.2.2 as far as I can tell, while @MisadventuresVG's does not (at least for the opinion modifier; not sure about any other changes).
PROBABILITYOFSUCCESSZERO 9.12.2018 klo 9.40
I have recently published my own vassalization mod to adjust how empires view amongst other things the difference in population size as a positive factor. In the absence of an update to this older mod, please consider using the one listed below;

https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1586837477

Apologies for the obvious poaching of subscribers but given the fact the author hasn't updated this mod since 22 Oct 2016, I think I can be forgiven on this occasion. :)
Bleiser 8.12.2018 klo 9.51
Does this work with 2.2.1? Is it still needed?
Shade 14.9.2018 klo 9.56
Still working for 2.1+. Lol. I swear, this mod is immortal. XD I wish other mods had this ones lasting power.
Baldwick 27.5.2018 klo 6.20
To anyone who doesnt know, most mods will still work even if the mod manager says they are out of date, unless its major. For example a name set will still work in any version because it doesnt change the Game's mechanics or doesnt add any mechanics.
Shade 5.3.2018 klo 21.05
For anyone wondering - yes, this mod still works 100% fine in 2.0.1 and the 2.0.2 optinal/opt-in patch - the data line changed for vassals is the same still.
PekingGeese 5.3.2018 klo 18.19
Mod still working in 2.0.1. Love it.
Peter34 1.3.2018 klo 7.01
Is this mod needed in 2.0?
Xherdos 11.1.2018 klo 6.00
damn finally i can get my -125 Opinion modifer away
mstachife 6.1.2018 klo 14.58
it still works you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... doesnt need an update -_-
Solar™ 4.1.2018 klo 10.02
please update
David Ralphsky 4.12.2017 klo 16.28
Need an update :)
Xeonzs 20.10.2017 klo 2.19
For those wondering, all this mod changes is the -1 to +1 in this section:
opinion_relative_power = {
opinion = {
base = -1 # per 1% power
}

min = -1000

Which is found in: 00_opinion_modifiers

The mod will continue working as long as PD doesn't change the structure of the vanilla file.
It will even work when the launcher says it's outdated, this is due to the version supported being a seperate field, motivating content creators to update their workshop files on patches.
(As all it does is scare people from using the mod, it doesn't actually do anything except show you when the creator last worked on it, which you can see in the workshop already).

Thank you @Red Aria, was a bit concerned
Red Aria 24.9.2017 klo 8.26
To everyone who asks - this WORKS on 1.8.0 synthetic dawn capek update. No issues.
Poggle the Greater 14.9.2017 klo 17.16
@TargetofTarget Do you know the specific line it changes in the files?
TargetofTarget 10.9.2017 klo 22.16
For those reading still: it says it's out of date but it's fine - it doesn't break anything because it's literally a tiny little math change.

>>>>This Mod is No Longer Compatible With The Current Version of The Game<<<<
DarkNova 22.5.2017 klo 2.45
Does this mod at all still I notice between with and without Mod since no difference?
Kurosawa0 13.5.2017 klo 5.47
1) Still working in 1.6.1 !
2) It swaps the negative impact of relative pwoer into a positive one. So the more powerfull you are in comparison to your vassals, the more they'll love you instead of hating / fearing you

And no I don't think they changed anything to Vassals. They still only help you in wars, don't give you any income. BUT with the Domination tradition you can gain 20% of their MAX Naval Capacity for yourself.
Ravemaster99 29.4.2017 klo 19.01
2 Questions.
1) Is this 1.5.* (Banks update) compatible?
2) Does this mod make any noticable improvements?

After all these paradox updates i'm wondering if vassals make more sense now in vanilla, witought needing this mod.
Dustreaper 28.4.2017 klo 15.08
of course not it changes game files.This is not cosmetic so no.
I Darkstar X 28.4.2017 klo 12.00
ironman?
Dustreaper 13.4.2017 klo 4.26
I find the whole vassal opinion thing ridiculous. They love me and they want to become my vassal so i do that. instatly from +100 orso to -200 but i thought they wanted to be protected because they asked for it.
DarkNova 8.4.2017 klo 8.14
becom this Mod a Update to 1.5?
Tom Jackal 29.3.2017 klo 16.50
Compatibility update?
P!X_avsbes 23.3.2017 klo 17.18
that's strange... cause yesterday i had a vassal that had about 2k fleet, i had about 300k and the opinion was -600...
GC13 15.3.2017 klo 9.15
This mod is outdated by a vassal fix that happened at some point in the past.

Iisn't "broken", since it does exactly what it says it does. In the current patch (1.4.1) though, it's completely unnecessary: vanilla Stellaris already makes your vassals less happy with you as you become weaker relative to them. If I use this mod and delete my fleet, my vassals go from +24 happiness with me to +2,955; if I were using vanilla, they'd suddenly hate me when they were so much stronger than me and declare for independence.
Malbeefance 6.3.2017 klo 8.02
Any chance for a compatability update?
SabasNL 25.2.2017 klo 2.08
Great mod that does exactly what it promises to do. Still works as of writing.
One Frame Man 22.2.2017 klo 4.51
@RexRocks124 Also how does it make sense that the strongest you are the more they want to fight you, its like going against a fallen empire on the first 10 years
LialahCrowley 6.2.2017 klo 1.56
It still works as of 2/6/17. and by all indications will work after the 1.5 update
Dark Thoughts 28.1.2017 klo 7.16
The thing is that they hate you less if you're not so strong, thus making rebelling unlikely when you're weak.
RexRocks124 25.1.2017 klo 15.09
on one hand it makes sense that vassals would hate you being stronger because it means they can never be free unless u grant it but on the other hand wouldnt u love having a stronger military protecting you?
Kraft 25.1.2017 klo 5.54
Not updating this?
Sir Ownsalot 23.1.2017 klo 5.39
does this mod still work?
Rainiermangala 張金龍 TM 10.1.2017 klo 20.06
