@Atiqa This is the same version I posted back in 2016.

I haven't bothered to update it because, honestly, you are better off playing the latest version of this hack on an emulator like BlastEm or Genesis Plus GX instead. The one used in SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis Classics is both less accurate and does not support SRAM when playing modded games.

This says it was posted in 2016, but the readme in the link is for a 2019 release. Is this the old version or the more recent one on romhacking.net?
Kamul 5. dec. 2020 kl. 17:40
Would it be possible to run the hacked rom directly on another emulator, like Retroarch?
Maybe that would solve the save game issue so many people seem to have with the Workshop version?

use the quick save option in game...thats how i had to save and load on phantasy star 4 with a mod
OMorty  [ophavsmand] 9. juni 2019 kl. 14:28
@Zarvera I'd say something to them on social media. There's precedence of that influencing Sega before (e.g. convincing them to get more Yakuza games out there), so no harm in trying.
Zarvera 9. juni 2019 kl. 14:14
Well damn, that's even worse. How do we bring it up and do they actually care, i wonder
OMorty  [ophavsmand] 9. juni 2019 kl. 13:57
@Zarvera @Tyler Durden It's an issue with the way SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics loads patches, unfortunately. While it seems to make save files on users' hard drives, it doesn't seem to load them. It's something that'd have to be addressed in a patch from Sega. :steamsad:
Zarvera 9. juni 2019 kl. 13:44
Meh, saves are not working.
Unfortunate.
Tyler Durden 24. maj 2019 kl. 23:42
This mod would be perfect if it increased movement speed too. I love the increase of EXP.

However, the game cannot save at all. I know I am running the mod since the 3 fire ant battle gives 10 exp instead of the regular 5. Whenever I click to save it makes the 'bip' sound, but still says empty on all the slots. Saving the 'regular' way in-game does absolutely nothing. Upon rebooting the game all saves are lost.

Oh well, I'll probably start over with your mod when I do feel like starting it up again; it's still faster then restarting, doubly so if I avoid bugs and have a more interesting experience. I just finished Phantasy Star 4 this week again (Nostalgia; first RPG I ever played), so a mod that makes it a little closer to that experience is always nice.

@Kaero I didn't see anything about Shir's stealing in the list of changes. :/
OMorty  [ophavsmand] 13. okt. 2018 kl. 12:55
@Velrei I don't believe so, sadly. This hack changes a lot about the game, so I wouldn't be shocked if your save didn't carry over.
Velrei 12. okt. 2018 kl. 15:39
Can this be applied to saves already started? I have a game started where I've already level grinded to a frustrating extent, and would like to avoid replaying some areas.
Kaero 6. juli 2017 kl. 9:32
Hi, does this 'fix' shir stealing on Dezo?
LilG 18. jan. 2017 kl. 14:10
Ok thanks for that, guess I need to try to solve the lagging issues. The original was such a grind its the reason why I never finished PS2 after 20 or so years lol.
OMorty  [ophavsmand] 18. jan. 2017 kl. 14:07
Yeah, to load mods you have to use the new frontend. The simple launcher doesn't support mods, last I checked.
LilG 18. jan. 2017 kl. 10:52
Question about this mod, do I have to always click it each time I load up PS2 from the room?
I prefer using the simple launcher due to the lag I get.
DPSnakeyes 10. jan. 2017 kl. 23:06
For those out there like me who sat there and pondered there existence after noticing no change what so ever when subscribing the mod; fret not you are not the only one. What I didn't realize is you have to go into MODS and select the mod by pressing A or select or left click if using the mouse. Works just as stated.

Now, I feel like a complete tool and will go contemplate my naval for the next hour...while drinking heavily.

Supposedly there was a very limited run of PS1 for the Mega Drive in Japan, but from what I've heard, it's basically the SMS version, content-wise.
StriderTien 22. juni 2016 kl. 21:14
BTW, JK. And if the original Phantasy Star WAS playable via this collection, I imagine it would have gotten much more attention by now. So my guess is no.
StriderTien 22. juni 2016 kl. 21:12
What is this "1" you speak of?
Poyidoya 22. juni 2016 kl. 20:24
Has anyone made the original Phantasy Star playable through the collection? It feels weird that I can buy and play 2-4 but not 1
OMorty  [ophavsmand] 9. juni 2016 kl. 14:45
Thanks! :)
StriderTien 9. juni 2016 kl. 12:34
Found it. I'm gonna post a link to it here to help others users get directly to the source.

I could find the 1-13-15 but that's not the latest patch, is it? If I'm not mistaken, the lastest version of this patch is psiiModern06-23-15.ips. Where can you find this or whatever the latest patch may be?
OMorty  [ophavsmand] 3. maj 2016 kl. 12:37
Done!
FlamePurge 3. maj 2016 kl. 11:51
It's quite alright. Are you able to change the title of mods? You may want to change this one to "Phantasy Star II Modernization" if so, because this doesn't show up on a search of "Phantasy Star II" at the moment.
OMorty  [ophavsmand] 3. maj 2016 kl. 11:18
Sorry for not linking to the readme! It's been added to the description for future reference. :)
*Logan* 3. maj 2016 kl. 5:41
Thanks

*Logan* - This has a detailed list of changes by the author himself. http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/genesis/patches/1404readme.txt
OMorty  [ophavsmand] 30. apr. 2016 kl. 19:15
Yeah man, it makes it more like Phantasy Star IV in terms of difficulty and pacing. Which is awesome, cuz I feel IV is the classic series at its prime.
*Logan* 30. apr. 2016 kl. 18:54
So this changes Phantasy Star 2 somehow? Interesting...
