@Ulenran Yep, I considered everything when I lopped my Mosin down. (Totally jealous, I'd love a Finned Mosin like that!)

I do like this mod BTW, less screen real estate is taken up by the gun itself.

The 'sporterizing' of old military surplus rifles diminishes their value, though not many people take that into consideration when they buy a $90 91/30 at a local gun show. What was 90 bucks in 2001 is now 200 bucks, and as more Mosins (among other things) disappear into consumers hands, the value only rises. There is a high demand for original milsurp rifles, mostly collectors. A shortened barrel, modified stock and bent bolt may make the rifle easier to handle, more accurate, and 'tacticool', but if you try to sell it, you will recieve a lower price than you might have if your rifle had been unmodified, especially if your rifle was made in 1895 (like my 'finned' M91). Its your choice, but I like to keep mine looking like I just cleaned the cosmoline off it :)
