Hey, so I really like the idea of being able to merge families together in a multiplayer game, but I noticed you can only activate the option once and can't deactivate it. Why not?

Can I join a noble family, like the King of England, with my friend as the Patrician as a Merchant Republic, and designate his say 5th or 4th child as the heir to the House?

Perhaps you could look to the forums of "A game of thrones mod"? They have it set up and it works quite well.

@Terence, I'd like it to be brothers or something as well, but unfortunately I don't think it's possible to do that. You'd have to create a fake parent to link them together and last time I tried that I couldn't get it to work.

so are you possible, to make a this mod to work for SP as for MP? I have seen like .. you are part of Lannister Dynaste, or the Boltons etc.. in Game of Thrones.. mod... and seen in an old mod how was called CK2 + ... like once I hade a Save file were.. my Charcter was a an "extra Son or Brother to William the Conquerer.." as I was part of the Normadie house. same I did for the Plantagenet, Richard the Lionheart? :P like that? you understand? what I am trying to say? is that possible for you to do that kind of mod?

@jrms One player takes a decision to open his dynasty for other players to join and then everyone else should have a decision to join that dynasty. Decisions are under the intrigue tab.

@Partario I suppose thats true, but with the ethnicallity eventually you would run out of people to offer it too, I guess in replace of that you could take KronOliver's idea, to become part of a dead family and continue its legacy

@KronOliver, no I don't. This mod is just meant to help set up multiplayer games.

Do you have a singleplayer version of this, where i can join even an dead family? like the Justinians.

Hmm... what about if they had to be of the same ethnicallity as you?

@Paladier, I suppose that's possible but it would be pretty OP. Once you were reasonably powerful you could just get all sorts of people to join your dynasty. Combine that with elective or seniority succession and you would just get more and more powerful. It's an interesting idea but it would be very difficult to balance.

Could you make this a thing for singleplayer? Like you can send an offer to another character asking them and their dynasty to join yours, but the only do it if they are weaker than you, or the other way around where they can ask the same thing, but if you decline it is basically a HUGE insult to them an their dynasty since your basically saying that their dynasty is weak.

Alright well I gave that a try and ran into many interesting issues. Changing the hair colour changed the colour of both the hair and the floating crowns. Sorry, but I don't think I'm going to be able to do that for you, SnowHawk.

@SnowHawk, it might be possible actually. I'd have to add them in as new hairstyles i think and then prevent other headgear from appearing on top of it. I'll give it a try.

Would it be possible for a mod that allowed you to change your headgear from the barber?

@SnowHawk, thank you and I agree. Multiplayer has so much potential for dynastic shenanigans but it's difficult for the players to set up interesting starting situations. If you (or anyone else) have any other suggestions let me know and maybe I'll be able to mod them in.

This should honestly be something thats part of the base game, but alas Pdox jumped ship on multiplayer the moment CK2 released.

It would be cool if you could get the A Game of Thrones mechanic, possibly even ask them if you coulf use it which gives events and decisions for joining the dynasty as a brother/sister etc.

@RareMason, in-game the player whose dynasty other players want to join takes the decision 'Accept new dynasty members' which flags that dynasty as the target dynasty. Then any other player can take a decision 'Join the best dynasty' and they'll become a member of that dynasty. Currently you end up being kinsmen of each other.

Huh, I guess European rulers in my game always end up with western head gear for some reason despite their culture.
