Started in survival, did the Alt f10 to go into creative. Was able to spawn them in and they seemed to work. Have a mix of about 110 mods/scripts installed.
Sapioit 21. jan. 2024 kl. 5:06
Unfortunately, I cannot find them to craft them or to spawn them in creative mode.
The C𝔬w God 27. sep. 2020 kl. 15:40
do these still work?
Hirnsausen 14. juli 2019 kl. 6:19
Why not you add additional sizes to them, like 7x7, 10x10, 15x15?
Also needed; 1x1

Is it possible to scale up just the X and the Z axis, but keep the thickness of the wheel (Y) unchanged? And would such a re-scaling need a 3D editor, or can that be done by defining scaling values to the text file of a mod?

And there is one type of wheel that I want to suggest to you for a new mod. All regular wheels with a middle axis have necessarily a low ground clearance. There is a new type of wheel that was developed by NASA and is in discussion for planetary rovers. It has no middle axis but a mechanism along the upper area of the inner wheel frame that holds and propulses the wheel. Is there any way to have you look on a graphic that illustrates that mechanism?

Колеса не поворачивают как надо. Исправьте баг. А так выглядит ничего но толку из за этого от них никакого нет.

Control script for wheels on subgrids (not my work)

5x5 wheel is not there
Eternal Darkness 29. sep. 2017 kl. 16:17
i am a bit sad theirs no video or a setting pic but it looks so good
Nips 24. feb. 2017 kl. 19:31
wheels need to be stronger, pop very easily
Obscurity 1. feb. 2017 kl. 14:15
This seems even better now with Digi's Control Module. Now rotor based wheels and steering finally is viable (and even superior then native suspended wheels, albait requires more effort)
Zankar 15. sep. 2016 kl. 14:12
Sad that you never got to finish this wish you would stay on SE.
Geech6 9. aug. 2016 kl. 7:31
No matter what I do I can't get the 5x5 strut to go on my truck. It just keeps saying that wheel can't be placed. The 3x3 works fine, but I need the beefyness of a 5x5 wheel with my build and normal rotors don't have enough give to them without shattering.
H3xx 24. juli 2016 kl. 16:07
Any chance of getting rotor arms? This would be really cool...
SimplyBenjamen 13. juni 2016 kl. 4:12
I have a favor to ask of you biomech, can you please up the crash tolreance of these wheels. I toke the sandcrawer and made it into heavy armor but due to the weight the wheels are under some stress and they pop almost all the time.
Starship Owl 9. juni 2016 kl. 17:04
I approve this mod. will keep an eye on it :)
limnovi 3. juni 2016 kl. 9:42
If you're taking suggestions, I'd like a 3x3 wheel with 2x2 dimensions (placed on the centre block, but only 2-thirds the diameter). It would be great for small-ship retractable landing gear where 3x3 is impractically large, and 1x1 just doesn't work.
Vermillion 28. maj 2016 kl. 23:14
if the wheels themselvs are modified rotors, then you could use Control Module by DIGI to control them
Prophet_01 22. maj 2016 kl. 23:28
Can't you mod a new part for a steerable joint between the chassis and the suspension arm? It would have to be based on the vanilla steerable wheel, but without the ability to propell a wheel and instead it would need a fixed joint for a rotor head (you can already attach a rotor head to it in vanilla; it's just that the handbreak won't hold it in place).

With that you could at least get proper steering and make this somewhat usefull.
Short King 21. maj 2016 kl. 14:02
@Darth Biomech are these considered as rotor heads or do you simply place them on a rotor?
Iranian missile enjoyer 15. maj 2016 kl. 5:19
i dont know why but everytime i hover the mouse over a block while having one of these wheels selected my game crashes... please halp :c
Tonatsi 13. maj 2016 kl. 15:29
well, still wont place. the rotor susension is pretty cool tho, and if i configure the rotors correctli i can get a cool slowly lowering down efffect when i turn off the rotors and the vehicle will sink slowly to the ground. it will look cool! and i cant wait until KSW start optimisation!
Theonlylee 13. maj 2016 kl. 12:03
so it dont work yet?
Tonatsi 12. maj 2016 kl. 5:52
hmmmm. curious
Darth Biomech  [ophavsmand] 12. maj 2016 kl. 4:18
I can't yet, because I'm trying to find cause of that myself.
Tonatsi 11. maj 2016 kl. 9:58
um darth whenever i try to place a 5x5 wheel strut it says cannot place wheel even in the middle of space, can you help me?
mjc4wilton 9. maj 2016 kl. 4:14
+Darth Biomech You can use Digi's script mod in conjuction with this to make the wheels controlable
737✈Garrus 8. maj 2016 kl. 12:31
ALERT!: small & large grid wheel strut 5x5 won't place the weel: All area required to 'project' the wheel is empty. still a red text: Wheel could not be placed. :/

Please.
Darth Biomech  [ophavsmand] 6. maj 2016 kl. 23:18
@Autowar AKA Paladin
Keen's forum is preferable, because in comments that's an offtopic.
Autowar 6. maj 2016 kl. 22:52
Darth Biomech, I want to ask you a question on Space Engineers mechanics. should i send you questions through the keen software forum PM system, or leave a comment on one of your workshop items? Do you have a preferred method of contact?
Goobs 1. maj 2016 kl. 22:57
Darth, would it be possible to somehow network the wheels to a control block in a similar manner to how the turret/rotor tracking scripts are slaving multiple seperate grids onto one control?
XCanG 29. apr. 2016 kl. 8:01
Darth, check also ingame console, I give 8 errors from this mod.
Darth Biomech  [ophavsmand] 29. apr. 2016 kl. 4:27
Yeah, 5x5 bugs out for some reason, I was unable to pinpoint why it's doing that.
XCanG 29. apr. 2016 kl. 1:27
Can't place wheel 5x5, try every positions, it say no space to place... 3x3 placing ok
MagnusEffect 24. apr. 2016 kl. 23:04
do these wheels allow for other settings (not related to turning/suspension) such as power, friction, etc.? nice job either way
Darth Biomech  [ophavsmand] 14. apr. 2016 kl. 22:22
You need to setup rotor suspension first.
Virtual Valtyr 14. apr. 2016 kl. 16:26
Does that mean I have to setup a control for each rotor to turn a certain amout of degrees? or it's a simple connect and it works type of thing (like the vanilla wheels)?
Darth Biomech  [ophavsmand] 14. apr. 2016 kl. 4:04
In theory yes.
Virtual Valtyr 14. apr. 2016 kl. 1:50
So this will allow you to use rotors and still turn the wheels as normal?
Darth Biomech  [ophavsmand] 4. apr. 2016 kl. 5:57
Yeah, I confirm, but unsure yet why this is so. Needs more testing
AntShekhter 3. apr. 2016 kl. 22:32
yeah the same is happening to me as bml
blm1123581321 3. apr. 2016 kl. 2:56
Ok that actually only seems to be the case for the 5x5 wheels and there is plenty of room for them.
blm1123581321 3. apr. 2016 kl. 2:55
I keep tring to place these and no matter where or how ive tried placing them i get the message "wheel could not be placed" any suggestions?
Darth Biomech  [ophavsmand] 25. mar. 2016 kl. 23:08
Because it is like normal. These wheels are supposted to be mounted on rotors.
DarkdragonKev 25. mar. 2016 kl. 12:39
when i wanted to turn left or right the wheels go sideways vertically? why? why not like normal?
icedsteelwolf 19. mar. 2016 kl. 15:29
Hey Darth, It would be awesome if you could take this model and make a rotor out of it It would make an awesome leg system.
icedsteelwolf 17. mar. 2016 kl. 3:12
I think it would be awesome if you could make a set of robotics parts, i.e. foot shaped, high impact blocks, hinges designed to work well as walker and manipulator joints, maybe even just blocks designed to be limbs, a torso rotor, etc...Or A special piston block for chicken legs a la ED 209
Olympus 10. mar. 2016 kl. 2:56
@Junoberries What are you even trying to make?! XD
Ambitious Dreamsickle 1. mar. 2016 kl. 7:50
these wheels are great just not sure how to get them to work nicely with my machine (its 2 million kilos)
Ambitious Dreamsickle 24. feb. 2016 kl. 15:37
subbed! <3 *secretly cheering inside*
Bapkins 17. feb. 2016 kl. 5:07
Sorry i realise now that its actually not possible at all for a suspension to work whilst connected to a rotor.. and having read the comments properly can see how to use them...
