Not practical from what I've tried in the past: point lights don't support any sort of shadows, only spotlights (which are up to 179deg wide and the shadow gets quite low res at such wide angle)
The issue back then with spotlights was they completely turned off when it reached a max of 6 (IIRC) at one time and the ones that turned off was seemingly random, causing heavy flickering.
They've since tweaked spotlights to only turn off their shadow casting at that small limit, leaving the projected lights (with bleed) at a higher limit (but still waaay lower than point lights), which would most likely still cause some odd light beaming through.

Point lights are at least consistent so you can design the lighting around knowing that it does bleed through, which is why I guess keen added those unrealistic settings like offset and falloff.

Is there any way to fix the issue of light bleeding through walls - this is not an issue with the mod, but with the base game. I'm desperately trying to find a mod that resolves this!

Please update for new interior light

That seems rather pointless, players can already see what mods the server has and a re-upload would obscure it instead, alongside other downsides like scattering content, ratings, comments, etc...

You can make an empty mod (needs just a Data folder, no files) and publish that, then in the workshop page you can add mods as dependencies which will download them automatically when you add that empty mod to your server, it will also serve as a way to link players the list of mods it uses.
MadmanMac 10. okt. 2022 kl. 23:56
wil be added to a group listing so that players in the server have it all in one place should they want to look at the mod list, noone will be changing anything or modifying anything with the mod in any fashion at all. Its just my understanding that when using a mod on a public server its required to ask permission from the author and one of our lads mentioned i needed to get perms from authors of any mod I wanted to use in the station, which, is what I am doing :]
Digi  [ophavsmand] 9. okt. 2022 kl. 6:09
why would you need to re-upload it to use it tho?
MadmanMac 9. okt. 2022 kl. 5:07
I use this mod in all my solo stuff, honestly I dont know how I built large bases without it, which brings me to my question... Im hoping to use this in a nexus hub me n my buddies are setting up, would like to ask you for permission to reup privately and with all due mentions and links back, will that be ok ? Id even like to extend that if allowed to all of the instances so that our users can also benefit from this QOL mod as much as I have

Must-have mod.

I feel like this is one of those mods that should have been added in the vanilla game years ago.
Digi  [ophavsmand] 19. mar. 2022 kl. 4:19
I replied to you in buildinfo, please don't spam the same message in multiple mods. It's also not a problem with the mods, you're using them weird :P
EMERL 18. mar. 2022 kl. 21:22
Ok I encountered a strange problem. I generally play offline since my internet source is crappy, so I had to manually copy my mods into a folder, so this one is called 603906728 by default. for some reason when the folder for the mod is named 603906728, my game can't load a world with it enabled, it can make new ones but not load them, but by changing the folder's name to Light Block Improvements - easy control panel access, I can load up saves with it enabled

You are a fine details genuis, thanks for sharing all your ideas with us knuckle draggers. Good work mate.
luftmann 26. okt. 2021 kl. 19:33
That did it! I went through the edit game took it out of the active then put it back in and working fine. Thanks for your help.
Digi  [ophavsmand] 26. okt. 2021 kl. 16:57
The <Date> <Time> stuff were to tell you what the weird numbers in the log names are.

You could launch the game again with a new empty world and add only this mod, that would also check if other mods are breaking it in your normal world.
If it's still not working, now you got a new set of logs that are small and guaranteed to be about this mod, sort by date and the latest SpaceEngineers prefixed .log file would be it.
luftmann 26. okt. 2021 kl. 16:14
I found 4 log files by pasting %appdata%/SpaceEngineers. It doesn't find anything if I put the rest of it in. would you have any idea which file I should send? It's Been a while since I did anything like this.Thanks.
Digi  [ophavsmand] 26. okt. 2021 kl. 5:02
%appdata%/SpaceEngineers/SpaceEngineers_<Date>_<Time>.log
If you wanna send it to me privately you could do it over discord (Digi#9441) or use a text sharing site (pastebin.com , paste.ofcode.org , etc) and link it here or privately on steam.
luftmann 26. okt. 2021 kl. 1:11
How do I check that, please?
Digi  [ophavsmand] 25. okt. 2021 kl. 19:11
Works fine here, see space engineers log for compile errors or something.
luftmann 25. okt. 2021 kl. 17:16
I don't seem to be able to find the panel on any pre or post mod interior lights. did an update disable this mod? Thanks.
Digi  [ophavsmand] 14. mar. 2021 kl. 9:10
It's not because of any mod, it's the amount of mods or other things in server settings that cause the serialized rules string to be too long.
More details: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc/topic/unable-to-join-some-servers-since-1-197-180
RuschGaming.TV 14. mar. 2021 kl. 8:55
This mod is now causing my server to not allow any players to join. I've removed the mod and everyone can join again. Don't know if this has to do with keens update or this just being an outdated version.
Pøläär §nøw 30. jan. 2021 kl. 18:57
Digi, Because I used your mod in my creation, I mentioned you. Thank You. https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2379436077
andbruu 27. dec. 2020 kl. 6:50
@Digi
I have been using this mod for quite some time, and I really feel it improves the game.
I mainly use it for the fact that it colours the bulps/glass, as rarely for the direct access it provides.
If you ever felt like making a version that only took care of the colouring, I would be grateful. In any case, thank you for the many improvent that you have brought to SE.
Digi  [ophavsmand] 15. dec. 2020 kl. 5:55
Sounds like that mod replaces the vanilla block with their own, it's up to them to fix it so tell them about it :P
Topher 15. dec. 2020 kl. 1:56
Id be happy to remove the small ship pack although My small grid builds use many of those blocks
Topher 15. dec. 2020 kl. 1:55
testing result.... This mod does not play nice with Small Ship Vanilla Mod Pack even after moving this Mod lower in my mod list ... The Improved lights work after loading but after I place a few of them it stops allowing me to to select them and swaps to the Small Ship Pack mod ones...
C4PTRAMPAGE 1. nov. 2020 kl. 16:07
your saying the dlc models aren't in the sdk? that shuts down a few ideas i had...
Digi  [ophavsmand] 1. nov. 2020 kl. 8:04
They don't share the source model files for the DLC blocks, so it makes it way harder for me to add a control panel to it :/
C4PTRAMPAGE 31. okt. 2020 kl. 19:11
@Digi
the one thing i don't like is that those support posts for the interior light look sort of flimsy... anyway one of the dlcs added the rotating light a while ago any plans to support that? also a heads up, it looks like keen are releasing a new dlc next month that'll add two more spotlights... at least i assume those'll be part of the dlc and not the update.
Digi  [ophavsmand] 4. juli 2020 kl. 15:03
For anyone that had the 'issue' with lights showing "access denied", I've added an explanation in description as to what's happening (weird game behavior basically).
Digi  [ophavsmand] 30. juni 2020 kl. 3:23
I've commented on that mod on how they can fix it.
SourceStick 30. juni 2020 kl. 2:48
Hey, I found that this is conflicting with this mod. When both mods are enabled the other one doesn't work. Can you do anything?
Digi  [ophavsmand] 9. juni 2020 kl. 5:31
I'm not adding ownership to lights though. And that sounds like regular gameplay feature, permadeath.
patoo 8. juni 2020 kl. 15:34
@Digi on our dedicated Server we have constant issues with block ownership on all the light blocks (interior, corner, spot). Only the one who build the block can access it, and once this player dies and respawns even he cannot access anymore. Unfortunately our server machine crashed, so we may have lost all logs, but I'll try to recover and see if there's anything in it about this problem.

Battlemage 2. apr. 2020 kl. 4:34
@Digi I finally found which one was messing it up (definitely not one I was expecting). Love this mod, any chance we could get a panel on a projector?
Digi  [ophavsmand] 2. apr. 2020 kl. 3:19
@Battlemage
That's not because of this mod.
You have other mods that overwrite the light's definition without setting HasPhysics to false like vanilla has because they copied an old definition and didn't update it.
Battlemage 2. apr. 2020 kl. 3:09
Something is seriously broken with the collision model on the interior lights. It's treating the entire model space as occupied and players are unable to move through it.
Midnight 20. dec. 2019 kl. 0:29
Will this replace current lights I have in my game with these new models?
Scrapjack85 29. nov. 2019 kl. 18:15
the lights will still be there. but the control panel will be gone.
CTH2004 29. nov. 2019 kl. 17:44
WHEN WILL THIS BE VANILA!?

Note: If I made a ship with this mod, blueprinted it, and pasted it in a different world without this mod, would the lights still be there and work? Also, if I past a ship made without this mod in a world with this mod, will the lights have controll panels?
BevansDesign 3. nov. 2019 kl. 10:06
This is great. Have you considered adding control panels to a few other blocks that could use them, like rotors and projectors?
Digi  [ophavsmand] 25. okt. 2019 kl. 15:44
Oh right because of the offset slider.
Fixed xD
Game restart required if you loaded the previous version of mod in the current game session.
Vert 25. okt. 2019 kl. 6:52
Sorry to say but it seems to be an issue with all lights, not just spotlights. Spotlights are fixed but the rest are still broken.
Vert 25. okt. 2019 kl. 4:18
@Digi. Awesome! Thanks!. Ever since I found this mod it is a must have in my mod list. Can't imagine building without it. Will check it out later today. Cheers!
Digi  [ophavsmand] 24. okt. 2019 kl. 18:21
Fixed.
If you loaded this mod in your current game instance you need to reload the game to apply the model dummy changes.
SOBEK 24. okt. 2019 kl. 17:09
Hi. Same problem here :)
Vert 24. okt. 2019 kl. 15:43
Seems the latest SE update flipped the direction of lights (at least the Spotlights) when this mod is installed.
Scrapjack85 28. sep. 2019 kl. 7:00
thank you
Digi  [ophavsmand] 28. sep. 2019 kl. 0:13
That's not from this mod, it's one of my example scripts given to AutoMCD but not limited to so any mod could really be using that xD but likely one of AutoMCD's.
