I know this is old but its still one of my favourite retexures. however I just noticed years later, shouldn't it say MK16 on the side instead of MK17 since its based of a SCAR-L?

I don't normally have reskins on the guns, but decided to play a campaign with some and I loved this one! :steamthumbsup:

Hi LeonFQ. You're likely talking about what's called the specular map which tells the game which parts of the texture to make reflective or shiny. I think with most textures you will want to edit the vtf texture file ending in "_s.vtf" if I remember correctly. The brighter parts are reflective, the darker colors are not.

when i want to make a skin for a weapon looks like shiny mirror at the light, how do you do it so it doesn't look like that?

Suggestion: change the magazine to be a more gray color to match the standard stanag magazines the M16 uses.

The original texture is a very dark, almost greyish, green. The magazine is relatively unchanged from the default. No plans on reskinning anything else right now. Thanks for the subs and comments, much appreciated!

Aint the gun already tan or is it a different color, because my addon is blocking off the color to it so I dont know.

Found out the issue I was having: I had a mod installed that improved the shading on all of the Weapons, and it was conflicting with that. Besides that, thanks for the awesome skin!

Hm, that's odd. There's only three files and it's the .vtfs and .vmt for the combat rifle. Anyone else having this issue?

I already checked all of that. It says it's conflicting, but I don't have any addons it's conflicting with. It's like it's conflicting with the game's files itself.

@Parker, make sure it's checked on in Add ons in Left 4 Dead 2. Also it may conflict if you have a reskin or remodel for the Combat Rifle currently so make sure all those are unchecked. Not sure what else you can do but I hope that works.
