It would be impossible to make the game see the hard rocks as beds, but I could alter the requirements for a cell so hard rocks are alternatives to beds. However, I'm not sure whether this would really fit the feel of the mod- as building proper cells would be luxurious as far as I'm concerned. I could add a new type of cell (such as a "Dank Pit" or similar) with no requirements?

Would it be possible to make the game see hard rocks as beds so that I can use them and still meet the requirements of a cell?
