@luisdanielavilacastaneda I'd recommend using the new mod I linked in the description, I haven't maintained this one in years.
luisdanielavilacastaneda 5. maj 2024 kl. 20:39
spawn id gigant?
Doogma 10. aug. 2020 kl. 18:45
@Nixtut Not a bad idea.
Nixtut 10. aug. 2020 kl. 3:09
I accepted your request. :)
Rusty One Two  [ophavsmand] 9. aug. 2020 kl. 21:32
@Nixtut let's talk
Nixtut 9. aug. 2020 kl. 11:15
I will literally pay a developer to make a giga mod that makes giga smaller and more in line with rex and spino size without the stupid bleed.
I hate that they are skyscraper size dinos and are always in the way.

Name your price.
lastspartacus 27. jan. 2016 kl. 16:04
Noooo I was just going to grab it for my server, haha. Bets of luck getting it back up and running. Yours is the only mod that alters the speed and movement, which I cared for more than the base stats even.
The Storyteller 22. jan. 2016 kl. 13:39
Yeah this mod is no longer compatible with the game, I will be re-making a better balanced Giga mod soon.
Tyrthius 22. jan. 2016 kl. 12:59
new work link removed by author?
lastspartacus 10. dec. 2015 kl. 23:08
Best of luck, I'm throwing it on my server as soon as its stable :D Thanks for your hard work.
sloppy guy 10. dec. 2015 kl. 17:45
@Rusty One Two it's basically adding more dinosaurs and will be making other dinosaurs more realistic. I can send you my ideas if youd like
Rusty One Two  [ophavsmand] 9. dec. 2015 kl. 20:07
Deimos I have hidden it while it causes crash to desktops when the animal is tamed
Rusty One Two  [ophavsmand] 9. dec. 2015 kl. 5:53
That's really great to hear @izanagi1! Unfortunately, I can no longer update this Mod in any way, because the workshop and the dev kit have decided to change the version number. So I must build it again if I am to update it at all. Hopefully it is still working for people!
izanagi1 8. dec. 2015 kl. 15:28
This mod works fine for me (Single Player), had to destroyallenemies but now i got me a tamed Giganotosaurus.
Rusty One Two  [ophavsmand] 7. dec. 2015 kl. 23:22
Thanks @jonqrandom!

I'd love to hear about your mod @Triceraflops Gaming
jonqrandom 7. dec. 2015 kl. 17:21
ouch! again, sorry it's giving you a rough time, i genuinely hope this gets easier for you both! thanks for the response and the mod, and good luck :)
sloppy guy 7. dec. 2015 kl. 15:29
Goodluck with that. I'll be making a mod soon and If you think you have free time after making this one maybe we could work collaboratively on it! :)
Rusty One Two  [ophavsmand] 7. dec. 2015 kl. 15:19
Yeah, the new version is hidden because it was causing crash to desktop when giganotosaurus spawned or was tamed. I didn't want anyone accidentally doing that, so I hid it from selection. I'm probably going to have to rebuild the mod. I've torn it apart and put it back together and that's not fixing it, so I'll try tonight to make it from scratch and see if that fixes it.
The Storyteller 7. dec. 2015 kl. 14:36
The new version is under revision, Rusty will make it release an updated version soon.
jonqrandom 7. dec. 2015 kl. 13:48
currently the page linked from the description just gives a "not found", really sorry you're having such a hard time with this, any idea what's going on?
sloppy guy 5. dec. 2015 kl. 21:05
can u tell me what this changes? I'd like it on my server but I just want to know how less op this makes it.
Rueain 5. dec. 2015 kl. 20:28
coooooooooooooool
jthejuice 5. dec. 2015 kl. 17:24
eirk i agree
Bronzo 5. dec. 2015 kl. 12:10
yolo
Why Watt 5. dec. 2015 kl. 9:47
@Leviathan - I'd have to agree. There is almost no-point in dropping a loot bag if you can never f*cking find it. I mean, the worst part is is that the devs KNOW thatthere are mods that add easier-2-find bags, and they have shown that they observe the mods because the moment that a freaking roof mod shows up they throw it into the game. SO WHY NOT FIX THE MAP?

GRINN 5. dec. 2015 kl. 8:22
nothing to do with the post but f*** this game. fix the map. what is the point of having the bed icon come up only when you are dead. what's the f***ing point of that? sick of losing all my ♥♥♥♥ because i cant find my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pack. fix the f***ing map or im not putting any more input into trying to make this better. everything else is awesome, except the spawn system and the f***ing map! im sure im not the only one pissed at this.
Why Watt 5. dec. 2015 kl. 8:04
*is
Why Watt 5. dec. 2015 kl. 8:04
Well crud the mod id now Deprecated apparently.
Garr 5. dec. 2015 kl. 7:48
are you still having problems with the excessive spawns of gigas? if so i think i know the answer.
Consider that you can replace any spawn with anything else. for instance, if you changed all of the spawns to raptor_character_bp_c you'd get dozens of raptors, everywhere, always.
But then remember that some spawns are hard-locked. change it to quetzal_character_bp_c and you'll end up with basically an entirely empty map and no more quetzals running around than there were before you did that. The reason is that quetzals, mosas, and gigas, just like the alphas, are hard-locked to not spawn after a certain number is reached. If your mod critter isn't similarly hard-locked, it'll keep spawning. as a result, the spawn rates are going to appear to be much higher, simply because it continues to spawn them rather than turning it off once you've met the required amount
Why Watt 5. dec. 2015 kl. 7:11
If you look at a certain mod, it has an Acrocanthosaururs that uses the skeleton and model of Giga(Different textures and tons of other awesomesauce, like an armor debuff after each hit!). It is made to be smaller then Rex. So if anyone wants to know exactly how complicated it is to do, go ahead and search up the mod "Cool New creatures)
SNAKE 5. dec. 2015 kl. 6:41
thought about making it the real size ie as a rex?
Pingu 5. dec. 2015 kl. 5:05

ARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:steamhappy:
The Hoff 5. dec. 2015 kl. 1:07
Problem has been resolved by disabling this mod. There's some kind of conflict going on, I guess.
Rusty One Two  [ophavsmand] 5. dec. 2015 kl. 0:36
This Mod only changes the animal that the giganotosaurus spawner produces, not the frequency or locations they spawn in. That's going to be a different issue.
The Hoff 4. dec. 2015 kl. 21:28
Having the same issue on Valhalla. They're everywhere. Not sure if the issue is with Valhalla or this mod. The density of giganotosaurs is so high that it's almost unplayable without barricading yourself in your base.

Also noticed my 900k+ HP giganotosaur was at 30k after the server restarted. I'm totally ok with that, as 900k just seems completely absurd and pointless. I'm just curious on what the stat standard is supposed to be with this mod. As is, it's all over the place.
Ashvaela 4. dec. 2015 kl. 15:50
@dragonmalte I've run into that also. After noticing that 2 Giganato's I'd tamed (legit, no force/dotame) yesterday, suddenly today had the super nerfed HP. One was over 200k hp and the other over 100k, now only have 10k, and 50k hp. Did some force and dotames, out of the 5 I forcetamed one had 7k hp after taming only. The dotame ones all had the buffed hp.

It would also appear they easily ragemode again.

The wild ones seem to also have crazy high hp, as 1 wild one killed all the ones I had force/dotamed (most over lvl 100) very quickly without showing much damage.

I've also noticed that there is a HUGE increase in giganato spawns on my map. I'm using the Valhalla map, which limits the amount of spawns to 1-3 in the world at a time roundabout, and now I'm finding a lot of them. 12 alone in one area of Valhalla's version of Carno Island, which is where I did the taming hp testing.
Dragonmalte 4. dec. 2015 kl. 9:37
And the wild ones have much hp too, let them fight against one of mine with 200k hp and estimated dmg of 1k-2k on lvl 5 and the fight took more then a minute, haven't tried with naturally spawned giganots yet, only console summoned
Dragonmalte 4. dec. 2015 kl. 9:33
Yes tested it got a lvl 7 giganoto with 125k hp
Rusty One Two  [ophavsmand] 4. dec. 2015 kl. 9:28
@dragonmalte see if dotame produces the same bug. I'm gonna look into it as well from my end.
Dragonmalte 4. dec. 2015 kl. 9:26
Ok tested it a few times in singleplayer with forcetaming spawned giganotos, sometimes they got 5000 hp sometimes 75000 and sometimes even over 200k after forcetaming. And the one with 5000k hp lvl 4 and 150% meele dmg (should be 120dmg if 80dmg is the base) needed only two hits for a paraceraterium with 2700 hp. Did you mean 800dmg lvl1 maybe? Or something is bugged when forcetaming them.
Rusty One Two  [ophavsmand] 4. dec. 2015 kl. 8:40
@junkernought the debuffs to the animal that happen when it is tamed are completely gone. level 1 health is 5000, level 1 damage is 80, torpor is 2500.
Shardaron 4. dec. 2015 kl. 8:25
Could you post the modified creature's stats? Lvl 1 health, damage, ect, or by how much you decreased them? Also changes made to the wild-to-tame buff. You said you tweaked the -225000 to health but I'd like to know just how much you reeled this bad boy in across the board so I know what I'm getting into when I stumble across one.

Thanks for the mod! :)
The Storyteller 4. dec. 2015 kl. 7:52
It works on single player, don't try to join a server and spect to have the mod work unless they have it installed. Use the console command
destroywilddinos
to refresh the dinos in game.
Fratabasha 4. dec. 2015 kl. 7:36
For me, the mod haven't change anything. After subscribing to it, is there anything I am supposed to do to make it work ?:steamsad:
The Storyteller 4. dec. 2015 kl. 6:47
The Giganotosaurus size is not a problem like the insanely overpowered wild Giga version is, this mod fixes the absurd penalties players get after taming a Giga, like -225,000 HP drop after taming and -50% attack reduction after taming, and also this mod fixes the Giga's growth as it level up, no more 0.00030% "growth"

Another game breaking issue that was fixed was the Giga's ability to destroy stone structures, so no more "unkillable" troll monster, I mean not even a lvl 230 tamed Giga was able to kill a lvl 1 wild Giga and if you were trying to kill it with Rexes you were only feeding the wild Giga.

Dinos in ARK are not size accurate, the Giga's size is not an issue unless you're talking about the fall damage from dismounting it.

Trying to reduce the Gigas size just to make the rexes look less whimpy is not woth editing tons of entries in the Dev Kit.

No, a smaller version is not planned so far and is not likely to be.

Kerpsteen 4. dec. 2015 kl. 5:01
Will there be a version with a smaller Giga ( about the size of a rex)?
Whiteshark01 3. dec. 2015 kl. 23:02
@linn, oh and by the way, Mosasaurs are incorrect slightly, the so called "elasmosaurs" are erroneous looking more like a cryptoclidus than an elasmosaurus. The Dinosaurs aren't particularly "grossly" exagerated. Utahraptors were larger than a man. The compsognathus is accurate for the species discovered in Germany. Tyrannosaurus is only ten feet longer. Megalodons are smaller than they should be. Pachycephalosaurs are relatively correct size-wise. Spinosaurs are quadrupedal rather than low slung. Pteranodons are missing large portions of their wing membranes. Dilophosaurs are tiny in comparison to normal Dilos, and Dilophosaurs do not spit venom. Trikes are correct considering they are a crossbreed of Triceratops and Styracosaurs. Dimorphodons are relatively correct excepting the large amount of feathers. Gigas
Whiteshark01 3. dec. 2015 kl. 23:02
are obviously alot larger in comparison to correct representations. Parasaurolophus' are correct barring a spike here and there. Oviraptors are actually correct considering modern reconstructions. Besides all the inaccuracies the Developers have stated many. many times they don't want total accuracy, so stop whinging about sizes and "missing" or "too many" feathers of creatures in game. And before anyone says anything about feathers. check the family groups that have feathers, check, relations to creatures in the family to those who have feathers, as the "all Dinosaurs have feathers, because 'so and so has them'" routine here, as few Dinosaurs have been discovered with feathers in the totality of Dinosauria.
