To use the skin, you subscribe to it here and then run the game. It may take a few minutes for the game to go through and update all your subscriptions, but eventually it should appear in your inventory. You equip it in your loadout screen, which you can get to by clicking on the picture of the foot locker in the lower right corner of your player faceplate.

Currently, they only allow custom skins for vehicles. I know a lot of people (myself included) would love to see them support custom skins for infantry or even support weapons like AT guns. But right now there's no indication if or when that might be possible.

I cannot submit this skin to the Polycount "War Paint" competition without first removing it from circulation, and I'd rather not do that.

Instead, I've just finished painting a brand new skin and have posted it to the "War Paint" voting area. It is a U.S. skin under the historical category, named "Operation Husky":

@ViperCanel: Thanks. If you are looking for realistic/historical summer skins that look good without the team color decals, two really nice ones are the "US Olive Drab" by Starbuck, and the German "Afrika Korps" by Fritzchen.

@Broken: to download, hit the "Subscribe" button above. The next time you play COH2, it should be downloaded automatically. It may take a while depending on how many other items (maps, etc) you have on your download queue, since that also includes updates to stuff you had already downloaded before. Hope this helps.

Very nice skins and decals. If you seperate it by factions or sides and add in summer variants it will be a wonderful way to play with vanilla skins for people who hate teamcolored decals.

Re: ranked games - I am not sure. I know that Relic only allows mods (including skin mods) on custom matches. PvP, co-op, or single player. Not on automatches. So if ranked games are only via automatching, then sadly that means no custom skins.

Regarding the underlying skins, they are intentionally very simple. They are based on the default skins which are solid paint (no camo patterns), just color-corrected so that each army is still visually distinct, and with some decals baked into them. At some point I'll revisit these base skins and see if any of them are worth releasing by themselves.

The snow textures look so good and real on these.

Yes, I've gotten into the habit of using a separate mod to get rid of the colored overlays for custom skins. Particularly when they have decals built into the design. The one I use is "Decal Remover" by Luz, but there may be others.
