Are you still working on the improved version or has development ceased on that as well? Also thanks for leaving it up, so many great mods have just disappeared without explanation leaving current users in a mess.

Im retracting what I stated before, after playing the game a bit and seeing what is out there I'd now reccomend if you wish to have a better version of this mod look into Structures Plus (http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=731604991) .

I will be leaving this mod up for ease of use sake, but if you stumble upon this mod, I'd reccomend diverting your attention to the above two.

It will support everything hopefully. There has been many updates to the modding tools since the last iteration.

@boats - Will the new version support sorting things like berries, jerkey, raw meats and so on into refrigerators since those do not have stats?

I am currently working on an improved version of this mod. If it differs too much I will be uploading it under a new name and leave this one as a legacy version. No ETA but it's in the works.

"Pull resources" is a feature in Structures Plus mod. We love it!! There's even a "Resource Puller" gun where you shoot a regular storage box, and prompted what resources you want to pull.
If you don't like the other things in the mod, it can be removed from engram list as anything else :)

Probably not, seeing as there's earlier been talk about payment for merely updating it. Props to BOATS for making this mod way back when he did, even with the kinks - but it's outdated and overtaken by other mods, especially since it hasn't been updated for over a year

The Description says you cannot transfer items with stats. Maybe in the future when the devkit supports it.

@Taz Devil. read the descrition. he clearly stats that items with stats can NOT be sorted and may be lost in the process.

@Vas even though I'd like to have a mod as you describe, by reading the description of this one before installing, you would have known it's not the way you want it.

However, I did not like how it worked when I used it. I was hoping to be able to send metal ore to the forge so it would start being refined into metal ingots and was hoping it could pull the metal ingots out and put them in the storage containers I had set originally. Because it didn't, I had to redo the design of my base. It just seems to be a chest that you dump things into and click sort on and it finds an inventory with that item in it to sort to. Doesn't really let me apply custom sorting methods or anything and automate some of my base like I had hoped.

When used with Annunaki Genesis Badass saddles seem to disappear and some of their stats are reset to when they were first tamed.. Just had to revert server to a previous save due to this problem. I know this isn't any other mod as the server has been running for 3 months and I installed your mod last night and the above problems occurred.

this sorting system works really great, I found 2 little issues tho:

first one:
It's sometimes overflowing containers. Comes in handy from time to time, still very likely not intented.

second one:
Standing torches appear to be containers and, even worse, priorized over other storages. Took me a while to find my wood and charcoal I tried to put into storage. Had several standing torches packed with 2k+ wood and charcoal.

The limitation of 20 stacks at once still makes storing large amounts of resources a little more time consuming than it could be, raising this to let's say 60-100 stack would come in very handy.

What should I put the GameUserSettings commands at to make this as quick as possible?

sortinge system is really nice. Can you greating an Stuff Finder maybe? So i have a lot of baxes and i running always stupid to find the specially stuff that i need. you understand? Maybe i need Wood so which one box is it? Maybe a laser pointer to the way of the box with Wood :) Good Idea?

Very sad to see this mod go to waste. I'm one of the many people who enjoy using this mod because we don't like to separate resources ourselves. So, here's to hoping this mod makes a comeback!!!!

Could the capacity of the sorting box be raised to say 100 or 200. Ive got 6 of these set up at the moment so i can pass large amounts through but would be brilliant if i could throw it all in one chest and just walk away. Brilliant mod by the way.

Could we have another update to this mod? To address the issue with the sorting bin no longer sorting into fridges. I have noticed other people have commented about this issue as well. For me this issue started a few days ago (no new mods added)...This is still an amazing mod even with this issue couldnt be without it.

@boats would it be possible to add a config option so that it doesn't auto drop items it cannot sort? I'd rather items be safe in a container then risk it decomposing on the floor if forgotten about. Thanks for the good mod, I love automation.

Hi.. I been looking for a mod that can sort better than i can. But im encountering issues with stacking mod and this one. I'm using resource stacks. when i try to sort stones for example, it will fill up the stacks in the container and it will spit the rest out on the floor. Will it not keep adding stacks to the same container with the same item?

does this work for bulk safes?

It's been quite cool that he's kept it up after finishing it too, and I'm sure he's fixed it as needed as the game is developed. I apologize if talking about other ideas was taken as me personally suggesting boats somehow has to work on that or anything. I think the others were speaking from the same place, "wouldn't it be cool?"

boats work is inspiring more ideas, and I don't think there's anything wrong with how it's been worded the last few days at least. I enjoy and use this mod, and it works perfectly how it's been said to work. I'd definately love to see another modder continue to do things along the same lines, and have no suggestions on the polite way to go about that as I'm not one.

I don't think anyone here recently showed any disrespect, intended or otherwise, by having new ideas while using this awesome mod. Thanks again to boats for this amazing tool

Please show boats some respect, he has said this mod is in it's competed form. If you [others requesting additions] want to create your own mod that works in reverse I would be more than happy to beta test anything but boats has put this mod to rest, unless there is something mod/game breaking in the future.

It's checking what you put in it and then checking nearby containers to see if something else is already storing that. If yes, it moves it from the sorter to that place.

So not sure how (because I'm not a modder) you'd reverse it to look for say specifically 2 stacks of simple rifle ammo or something. I'm sure it's not strictly speaking impossible.

But it might be, or might take hundreds and hundreds of hours of work to get it to look for any uniform thing.

Isn't the Mod already doing that by just scanning for everything you have in your containers? But I don't know how that stuff works, I'm no modder or programmer.
But maybe someone who is, will read this and probably work on it :)

Also after playing around with this and Morecrafting2, I've come to love combining this with a Combustion Engine at otherwise non-electricity using outposts to let me quickly sort drop-offs.Thanks again Boats! Getting lots of use out of this for a long time now

That sounds really cool Hadante, but I'm not sure how you'd get it to specifically look for simple rifle ammo or black pearls, or how to specify an amount. Too many different materials to put on a wheel without it getting crazy. I have ideas for how it *might* work, but I've never modded anything and don't know if it'd work at all so I'll leave my ideas out of it. Being able to pull your materials from storage to you elsewhere in the base is certainly convenient though.

I really like the idea though!

Would there be a way to make the Mod work in reverse? Like searching containers via the sorting box and taking it from there. That would be awesome, no more searching the right container for some ressouces.

Can you make this work with things like smelters and such? So you can put metal ore in and it put the metal ore into the smelter? I assume this has been asked before but, yea. Its a pretty helpful method of automation. :P

This is an awesome mod. I was just wondering if the mod was locked on what is considered a valid container to sort to, or if there was a config that could be tweaked to include/exclude container types. Or if maybe there was an include/exclude list based on container name.

Reason I ask is wondering if there is a way to distinguish between shared containers and private containers and a way to not sort to the private ones. Was thinking to exclude some kind of storage container and have all users use that one for things they don't want to share or have them put a label in the title like "PVT - <whatever>".
