They are rarely working, and if they work only for 1 dispatch after that they dont come anymore.

mod looks great! been looking for a type of unit that can quell riots without spending a million dollars on armed guards or killing all my prisoners with the OP soldiers.

Dispatching a unit is not spawning one... it simply tells one of your staff to go to the location you dispatched them to. Look up police dispatch on google.

@groovybluedog it is ranged. If you have none in a certain range, then no units will respond... Which makes patrols and having different stations an important thing.

And good idea for the riot guards.

Another idea for an improvement: change the Armed Guard one to ranged, as discussed, but have a new option - for riot police - that summons ALL just like Armed Guard currently behaves. :D

Also, the doctor works fine, it's just doctors don't show their walking paths in green, if you select a doctor yourself and right click on a location, they will go there, but no paths will be shown... If that was your question. But they are still dispatched.

I wanted to add a "dispatch" tech, but that has been dropped as I quitt modding PA. I still do a few updates like the one I will do to fix this version of the mod, but I have stopped any further, large improvements.

Paying doesn't bother me anyway; (A) my prison has too much money anyway and (B) if I did want to change it, I know the file to do it myself... the ranged thing however goes beyond my head but is certainly needed... but because when you call an armed guard, you're basically saying "SHIT IS GOING DOWN!!", the range should still be a bit bigger than guards but certainly not across the map. Any idea why the doctor doesn't show a line either? Otherwise works great.

You need to pay for the radios, the dispatcher etc in real life... but we ain't debating this. However, I will try to make the armed guards ranged yes, that is something that really annoyed me too, but I never got my head around it.

I will work on it, sooner or later.

Well the point is that we are paying them to do their jobs. If we gonna call the nearest one and send them here we need not to pay them but pay the mergency service

I disagree with making dispatching free

- Doctor doesn't always dispatch, and the green line doesn't show like the other ones even when one has been successfully dispatched

- Dispatching should be free as we already pay for the staff

- Dispatching armed guards appears to call the entire prison; maybe a ranged thing like call guards option, where it only calls armed guards within a certain area?

Otherwise, works well :D

It'll be cool for dispatch to be free. Because what if it was an emergency? Atleast at one dollar or something. Otherwise, this is a good mod.

@BOT Brad works fine normally... make sure your guards are in a decent area (50 - 40 cubes) not 200 cubes away else it will not dispatch them. Doctors are the only one to be dispatched from a range of 200 or 100 (don't remember exactly).

@BOT brad... I don't think you get what the mod is about... It dispatches units, doesn't spawn them... spawning is already available in the basic game. Meaning that the dispatch object disapears as soon as it gave out the orders for a unit to be dispatched. (Dispatched meaning sent to the scene).

Did a test and it didn't happen WITH mods

Your bug does not appear on my game. I can therefor not help you. My scripts work fine for me and no other users have reported your bug. Maybe some other mod of yours is causing it.

@Native Can I just get an update on that bug I reported since trying to look in Notepad+ in the save brought up nothing since I don't know what im looking for. I just decided to sell that prison... Them accidently save over it and loooost it.

Dispatching = Sending People over. For example, in real life, police departments have dispatchers to send units to crime scene, respond to on-going crimes etc. This mods let you easily send doctors, K-9, guards etc around your prison by selecting the object 'dispatch (name)' and selecting a point to send them at. Just test it, it'll be clearer.
