This mod works BUT performance suffers heavily..

does this affect performance and GPu temp? I have the impression it does. Can someone confirm please ?

Most definitely user error if this mod doesn't work, I've been using it for years and it still works to this day.

the mod was working fine the one day my saved game crashed... started a new game but still not working.... deleted and reinstalled but no luck, movie type enabled also. cant figure it out

go to your game folder: ...steamlibrary/steamapps/common/Total War Rome II/data and search there for vfxtendedv2.pack <--- delete this file, it is the Mod

When i want to disable it i failed, shown disabled but still working back in the game ,dont know how to solve it ,can anyone help ?

If the particles aren't working you need to go into the mod settings in-game and enable movie pack mods.

guys my rome cant use gems , it wont register , when i gave the game directory it start to instaling but nothing there except gem folder and other bullshit no real application for setting gem

my files are pack files and i can open them with note pad, i dont this is the right file format as the mod does not work help

The file at the alternate link (google drive) is identical to the one here in the workshop. You're better off just using that. Place it in the /data directory manually. It will not show up in the launcher, but it will be active. It's already in the necessary format (movie), and the launcher shouldn't convert the pack type (to mod). If I'm wrong about the last bit, or the launcher changes behavior, you can set the pack to 'read only' in the OS.

Hace falta meterlo manual en data con la descarga alternativa, y en opciones graficas particulas en muy alto para arriba.

So, apparently the formatting for graphics mods has been terminated by CA and you have to change the file names then reformat them into .movie files via the Rome 2 Pack File Manager then the mod works. Is that actually true and is it just for Steam Workshop mods? Would be neat if the Author couild reply, but any info is welcome.

I get the impression installing/making GEM work is a bit of a tricky thing. I am not eager to do a reinstall of RTW2 and all mods.

keep v2 delete v1.

It works without GEM but I recommend using it too, my own preset is up there so you can have screenshots just like mine.

Can the vfxtendedv2 be placed in the data mod and let the vfxtended file also stay in the data folder? Must the vfxtendedv2 be renemaded into vfxtendedv2? I subscribed to the mod first, but no visual changes on ultra setting, probably due to the original file being in the data folder?

Does this mod only work together with GEM or does it also work without?

Try enhanced instead, its a little lighter on lower end PCs

I can't loaded this because my pc can't supported but i do one thumbs up, this is great mod !!
