i just tried and found out removing "_anim" files in its model folder can solve the conflicting with xdreanimsbase

There's even plugins to force it off on startup in the workshops. That's actually pretty funny.

It still works, you just need to play on a private server and have the host set sv_consistency to 0 as the vanilla Valve servers now force it on by default which can prevent certain models such as modified enemies from being used.

An update to L4D2 that got stricter about enforcing addons broke it. I'll see about fixing it when I have time.

I found something in my mod backup folder called "TDA Constellation Miku", and it's got "captainbigbutt" in the file directory when I extracted it so I assumed it's yours.

hey this mod looks really promising and cool to have as a witch mod replaccemente but i do get crash there is some sort of incompatibility?

game crashes because addon have bad texture in:
"materials/models/captainbigbutt/vocaloid/shadow-miku/eye".
i just patched file "eye.vtf", (replaced original file to custom), and it works with "sv_consistency 1".

Crashes. Does this make it obsolete for every Dedicated Server? Kind of sad...

I'm not sure what that is or does but if it makes changes to animations that the model is otherwise looking for then it very well could.

Why many mods that replace special infected still works(actually all my installed mods), but this mod dosn't? It cannot be tweaked at all? I mean which part of this mod causes conflict, maybe it possible to just tweak it without changing other things?

Actually, there are ways to get these mods working on vanilla servers without issues. Yes, even Witch mods. I don't know the specifics myself, but there are ways to get mods working on vanilla servers after The Last Stand update broke several mods. I know few people who take mod commissions who have found ways to get them working again, so maybe asking them how to fix it would be worth a shot?

Despair or Erich Grooms know their stuff, so they would likely be able to provide you with the info needed to get this mod working again.

This mod.. this mod single handedly made every campaign That much more terrifying. Half of the time I wouldn't see her until it was too late Or.. doublecheck only to trigger her rush and it was terrifying Every single Time! This by far had been the gamechanger mod in terms of quality of life within the game. Thank you so much, I will miss this mods functions until I encounter something similiar which is honestly speaking.. not very likely.

Having a different model period is what causes the issue. The mid-covid update made some changes. Consistency in source is typically just to force a check on the client to ensure the model files are the same period so they can't use them for cheating purposes (such as having a custom model with a giant head hitbox or something). Source is usually pretty good about that already though and I'm not sure why they only just started using it in a recent update but it means any custom infected models at all are likely not usable on vanilla servers.

The only way to make use of mods like this would be to host a listenserver or play on a server with consistency off rather than a vanilla steam server.

is it not possible to like, modify a few things to avoid the consistency error? like maybe match the proportions (hit boxes may be different, yes, but still) and have a corpse drop, etc... anything to make it compatible with the default witch model. I love to use this in all game modes and servers.

Does this change the wedding witch model? I was thinking of making this the normal witch and the white one the bride one.

A shame that I have to shelf this mod. It is one of my favorites.

The update last year enforces consistency now for some reason which means a lot of infected mods are probably obsolete. Forcing consistency means models for stuff like NPCs can't be changed. I'm not really sure what the reasoning behind suddenly enabling it after all this time but there's not much anybody else can do about it. You'd probably have to play on a custom server that either uses it or has consistency disabled or at least host a listenserver when playing with friends but vanilla Valve servers won't accept it anymore.
