Well that's why I gave allies mobile artillery from the start. It can destroy a lot of axis defensive structures. If you keep them alive that is :)

Anyway I am going to publish the unmodded version of this map soon so that on that map you can use any mod you like and resume saved games without problems.

And one more thing I want to notice you is that I think no matter what the two kinds of win condition is,on this map,Germany always need less population cap than Allies to win the war,just because Germany has very strong defense system in this Day-D map and there are only two narrow roads for engaging!About my situation: I have experienced play as German with Victory Point succesfully,but now,I want to simulate the Allies in those historical years:not just fight for few Victory Point,but aliies need to gradually go deep into heart of german area and annihilate all of the recalcitrant german they encounter.So,I recently play as allies,win condition is Annihilation,so,I need larger popcap to ensure allies could annihilate all threats on german's highland.

And Why I need 300 to 500 popcap is because if I play win condition as Annihilation,then I have to annihilate almost all of the enemy units(including enemy structures) to win a match,but,if I play win condition as Victory Point,then I think 195 to 250 popcap is enough because in this mode,I only need to keep the front-line not to be destroyed,then I will win the game.

@Wolfie88: About your 3th solution:The reason why I always need to save game many times again and again during one match round is my computer is so poor at gaming,my computer often crashed during a fantastic match,to avoid wasting my previous playing time & lose my striving during one game match,I have to save game many times again & again.:steamsad:

I'll start to work on it today. The second version will have new (stronger) concrete bunkers but they can't be repaired. In the first version I didn't use them because units garrisoned in them did not fire at the enemy unless they were very very close, Relic fixed this bug now. I hope Relic fixes the bug in the other bunkers as well as units garrisoned in those have no green cover. Other changes besides the removed mods will be that the map will be stamped and have an other atmosphere with rain implemented.

Hi. I can remove the 195 popcap on this map that was implemented in a time that there were no mods available to increase popcap and it was high enough to win no matter whos side you play. I playtested this map many times not only vs ai but also with friends. Besides, the modded map has also an increase mp income and special abilities like forward hq that would also be removed. Second solution is that I increase the 195 popcap to 500. I personally find this to much. 3th solution is that you don't save a game and play the 1-2 hour game till the end. 4th solution would be that I publish a a non modded version of this map, a v2. and I think that I will do that.

Day-D map Bug
I found an annoying bug about the population cap.I use other mod at in-game "Win condition"section to increase popcap to 500.But when I reload a saved game,the popcap returned to default 195.But I think it's difficult to win as this too low popcap,this bug means my previous saved game became meaningless,because I don't want to continue playing a saved game on this map just because this bug let the popcap return to 195. Can author fix this,please?

Thx, you are welcome. Yes, games on this map are usually long. When i playtested the map I also had annihilation games from 2,5 to 3 hours and more. Especially when playing with hard ai teammates vs experts. Glad you like the map as much I do :)

Due to switching to an other internet provider I am currently without internet connection. I post this here from somewhere else on a very slow connection.

Hi, in next update i'll increase mp income with 25%, lets see what that gives. I don't want to increase munitions and fuel income because I think that there are already enough air raids (to many can be annoying) and other offline bombardments enough same with tanks. Besides, people can use mods for that. 2x income, 3x income etc.

Hi, thx for feedback. I didn't include the forward hq ability on this map before because I tought that allies didn't have much use of it as on the beach there aren't any buidlings that can be transformed into forward hqs and it would be in favour of axis but now that you ask for it I chnaged my mind as it can be usefull if the allies manage to breakthrough and take the hilltop or drop paras behind enemy lines, so it will be included into next update, also the veteran squads. I also widened the trenches a bit so that heavy tanks don't get stuck.

Some Feedback:
- Widen the Trenches just after the beaches; heavy tanks keep getting stuck there.
- Widen the left side of the beach for vehicles.
- Remove Axis medic station - its too far from the action.
- Increase munitions rate (too slow currently).
- Allow option to get veteran squads and forward headquarters.

Other than that, fantastic I recon.

Heh, theres always that one guy (two posts below) Its easier to say D-Day than Omaha Beach, and Omaha Beach is the one that is AAAAALWAYS associated with D-Day, rather than Utah or the other landings, which is primarily where it comes from. Ask anyone here that actually has any interest of WWII, and theyll probably say the same thing.

-_- Looks like nobody knows his facts. D-Day was a DAY not a place. D-Day was the day that the allies did their invasion on 5 places. 2 of those were beaches (Omaha beach and Utah beach)

Just finished a 2 and a half hour epic on this map playing 4v4 AI, starting on the beach (as German too lol).

I had the game set for a 1000 tkt limit and my goodness, the carnage around the clifftop cap point was insane. The AI is very good with howitzer/artillery saturation, and when FINALLY I broke thru the deadlock and into open country with 4 tiger tanks and infantry support, at about the 2 hour 20 min mark, it was an extremely satisfying feeling. This finally allowed me to get the top cap point to end the game quickly.

10/10. Would charge up that cliff again.

I tried to take care of the cliffs. I first tried to put boulders (the rocks that lay benead them) against the cliffs as I didn't find a perfect texture. I didn't like the result so that idea was scrapped. I tried then with making them less steep. The result was also not satisfying. So I put the best texture that I found on it. Its simply dirt. Its a bit better, not so much flickering, then the original white Normandy cliffs that I put on it in previous versions but still not perfect. It should do it for now though. If i find a better texture in the future I'll update as I didn't have the time to test them all for now. Each time I change the texture I have to start up the game to test it as in game it slightly differs from how it looks like in worldbuilder. Besides changing the textures of the cliffs I also updated some small things here and there like closing a gap in a fence.
