Ah I've found the issue. I'v accidentally disabled the Social Engineering DLC while disabling my other mods. Thanks for the work on this mod. It's easily the best mod for this game.

@ghosty I've never heard of this before... The only thing I can think of is that you somehow modified the games main 'mission' files for the other countries. My mod doesn't modify those files, it just adds a new one, the uk - overhaul pack that you were able to get working.

@Ashai I'm not sure what you mean haha yes it's ok to use. There should be a much older version on the democracy 3 website if you can't get the dropbox version working.

The new feature I'm most excited about is a hidden early game stabilizer for GDP. Essentially, your GDP will curve toward 50% when the game is loading and once you start playing it slowly wears off for the first few turns. This way if you use the 'randomize start' setting you wont be totally screwed over by an almost unwinnable starting scenario.

@Labargoth sounds like you're missing the extremism or social engineering DLC, I forget which one that policy is from.

But I'm considering updating this mod again soon, I have been quietly working on it here and there and I feel like it's ready to go. Hopefully the steam workshop upload feature works for me this time and you guys wont have to get it through dropbox anymore (but I'll leave it there if anyone still wants the older version).

Mod seems to be broken. I applied the manual update as per description, but whenever I try to start a game with only this mod (and the DLC) active, I get an error message saying "Failed to find NationalArmedForcesWeek for C s e c,:..\..\..\src\SIM_Neuron.cpp 356" and then the game closes.

is this ok to use?

Mod crashes on every other country other than the "Overhaul Pack UK" country. Only using the first three DLC and "Overhaul Pack."

However, playing the included "Overhaul Pack United Kingdom" has the mod playing fine. Is this supposed to happen?

Working for me now with the Dropbox download. So long as in the default folder you have Overhaul Pack > data > etc. it should work fine. The text file in mods folder defines which folder it should be in (relative to root Democracy 3 folder.)

I hadn't thought of that, but it didn't work.

Oh, you probably have to rename the folder from 'Overhaul Pack Balance Patch 2.01 upload version' to just 'Overhaul Pack'.

Does the mod show up in your list of mods in-game?

I actually still can't get it to load even after downloading the dropbox. I tried uninstaling the game, validating the game, uninstaling the mod (using the in game button) and unsubscribing and resubscribing on here. To clarify, I put it in the same place all the other mods go, (the main folder) including the DLCs.

There's something wrong with the update function or perhaps gremlins have invaded. In the meantime I have uploaded the most current version to dropbox and linked it in the description above.

PLEASE NOTE there is a chance of 'crash to desktop' errors that give no specific information about the cause which makes them difficult to fix. If you run into them, please upload your autosave file so I can try to track down the cause. If you understand how to mod this game and want to try fixing it yourself my best guess would be the custom events. Sorry guys, best I can do right now :\

Seems to be only downloading the text file defining the mod and not the actual data files used to make the changes.

Looks fantastic, but I aswell cannot seem to get it to load. I've played this game with a lot of mods for a long time and have never seen this problem before. I really hope you can work it out. This is the only "big" mod with major features left on the workshop still being worked on.

Anyway, got the same problem as TheGoldenhammer_ and KING OF BEES.
Clean install, no other mods, Social Engineering, Extremism and Clones and Drones installed.

Tried to enable DLC one by one then your mod, it does nothing.
Tried to enable DLC all together then your mod, nothing again.

Have you got ideas to make it work?

Having the same problems at my end. Cant seem to get the game to notice the mod.

Just did a clean install of my game. Nothing but all DLC, this mod, and 2/5 of your reccomended mods installed.

I disabled all mods and DLC, then re-enabled the DLC, then enabled your mod. While I can load a country, the additional features (such as house prices or fair trade) are not showing up in my game.

Please advise.

You have to disable ALL mods, then enable the DLC, then my mod. The order you enable things matters, this game is VERY picky about that.

The mod definitely runs, the only potential issue is if there is a situation or event causing a crash to desktop. If this happens to anyone let me know and I'll try to track it down.

GIANT update is up with a ton of new content and balance changes to attempt to return to the glory days of this mod. I apologize for it being so insanely difficult before, changes to the core game's balance affected my mod in ways I could not have predicted and I was not actively playing this game or working on the mod at all anymore. With the help of a few testers I think I've managed to get it back to an acceptable difficulty level as well as adding a ton of content and even attempting to allow more capitalist and fascist styles to be viable as well.

pls fix

this mod is broken beyond belief. you start with zero popularity after winning and election and lobbying groups form immediately causing an impossible political gridlock which crashes GDP and leads to mass unemployment and apathy. this is all within like 3 turns.

@HeyLittleSparta I got the game and 3 dlc's for 10 bucks on g2a. Always check if something is cheaper on g2a before you buy it in the steam store

Cliffski changed the coding. It doesn't work now :(

Could you please make this so you don't have to have DLC? If you do, that would be much appreciated. (I'm too cheap to spend more than $25 on a simple game)

The mod seems very cool, but whenever I play a game my popularity starts and one and falls to zero. No matter how popular the policies I implament it doesn't increase.

Hi there! Thanks for the good work! I noticed that some things that I expected to affect the Wall Street Lobby didn't. I looked at the files, and it's called WallStreetLobby under situations.csv, but refered to as WallStreetLobbyists when being affected in policies.csv. A quick name change should fix it :)

@arch try disabling then re-enabling the mod. The order you enable them matters, the mod needs to be enabled last because it uses data from the dlc.

Electioneering is not needed but is compatible.

@VimoverhereV nope, I have an update in the works just not a lot of time for it or responding to people on here. But you can add me if you want me to send you the update-in-progress I suppose. The reason its so hard now is related to a few changes cliffski made to the base game after I stopped working on this mod.

Hey, just a heads up guys. This mod is UNPLAYABLE. Unsure why, but your approval rating will stay at zero throughout the term, causing election loss. No matter what policies are in play. Given the date of last update, and lost comment, I'd consider this mod abandoned.

Even after disabling the mods that are incompatible, according to your list, it still crashes. What happened?

is their anyway you could add a bankruptcy/ Debt default event, cause for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles i eliminated all revenue, and racked up over 500trillion in debt, had a C credit rating, a debt crisis, but no default?

After the newest update, the mod no longer seems to work. I've tested with all 3 pieces of currently released DLC and the mod, and nothing changes (it does not crash, but no policies or situations are visible). It worked perfectly previously, an update to make it compatible may be required.

On Windows, so this is not a report on the Mac problem another user had.

Sorry but there is no possible way to ensure compatibilty with other mods. It isn't a matter of up to date code it's simply that some mods don't work with each other and they never will unless you change or remove large parts of the mods in ways that will also affect gameplay.
