@ruiben: Thanks! :) Regarding the pines, I blurred the edges a bit to make them somewhat .. prickly. As far as I know the vanilla trees didnt change.

Your work's realy slick man, im subscribed to most of it, just a question... did vanilla ver. trees got updated? normal and snow pine trees are shadowed at their left side and makes them easy to distinguish specially in snow. Looked in ver history but i couldnt find it :(

Just to confirm, this mod also changes the bamboo texture, right? I'm just wondering, because you've got two separate mods for bamboo and forests, so I'm wondering if I need to subscribe to both.

That's quite simple, here are the steps:
1) right-click on 'age of empires 2' in your steam library
2) click on properties, and there on the 'local files' tab and then on the 'browse local files' button
3) a window should pop open, there you double click on the 'data' folder and afterwards on the 'slp' folder.
4) extract the downloaded files in this folder and you're done :)

Since there seems to be no guide about that procedure here on steam and it's a fairly common question, I guess I'll write a small guide with some screenshots tomorrow.

@RounDawG: With this mod no, there shouldn't be any issues since it's only a graphical mod. With other mods, who change the data files such issues usually arise.

@julianbaba4: I had a look into it, from a technical point of view, 'ice 2' and 'ice' (for example) use the same texture, hence if i change that one the other will be changed too :/
But big thanks for suggesting anyway! I guess I'll make a texture replacement sooner or later :)

if you download these will this mess up your multiplayer ive had other experiences where othere players where not able to play with me cause it said i had a different version?

If you decide to make more terrain/forest mods, I suggest replacing the following (HD / Forgotten) terrains:

> Grass Foundation - Looks the same as "Grass Barren", but isn't as fine when placed.
> Grass Other - Looks the same as "Grass".
> Ice 2 - Looks the same as "Ice".
> Ice Beach - Looks the same as "Ice".
> Forest - Looks the same as "Oak Forest".
> Snow Foundation - Looks the same as "Snow Dirt".

I have no idea what these terrains do other than look exactly like some of the others in the game, hence why they are pointless (Ice 2 seems to block ships, but not completely since they get by just fine along the shoreline).

If there really is something unique or important about these terrains, and that they shouldn't be removed/replaced, then let me know coz I'm not too sure :P

Other than that they are pretty much free slots :)

I love what you did with the Bamboo trees!!! That's exactly what they should of looked like.
I always thought the original bamboo looked too short, yellow and dead.

I would really appreciate it if you could make a separate mod for the HD Forgotten that only changed the bamboo trees! That would be great, keep up the good work! :D
