True, an accurate scale is hard to reproduce detail, but for me Serenity is about character & making due with the minimal for survival. I like the challenge of seeing how much to fit in a small space. If I went larger it would just feel like another massive ship that didn't have to compromise. Now if I can just get those thruster wings to rotate without breaking off.

The problem with this scale is that you can't fit all the rooms in and putting in all the details required makes it look cluttered...

I would love to see a Serenity that can fly in space and atmo, keep it up.

Connectors working different was part of the problem that may be better now too. Thanks for the suggestion to work on the atmosphere version.
ShadowSuit  [ophavsmand] 16. maj 2016 kl. 12:55
I was working on an atmosphere version for a while after planets come out, but there were too many bugs with pistons and rotors. I'm hoping these have been fixed well enough to give it another shot.
Arcadius 5. maj 2016 kl. 14:26
Can you possibly make this atmosphere-capable?

Best Serenity out there. :steamhappy:

I've added the shuttles, which can be attached to the wings via connectors. The ship was updated to include an Oxygen system, a detachable Jump Drive. and Cryo Chambers. I've also made many adjustments to appearance using newer style armor blocks.

Really awesome design, Yea creating the shuttles can be a PITA. Esp when trying to get them airlock capable(personal experience).
ShadowSuit  [ophavsmand] 27. apr. 2015 kl. 5:45
Taking a lot longer than I thought to complete the shuttle, but still working on it. Unexpected results have delayed release of what I would call an incomplete and slightly broken shuttle. I'm taking the time to do it right, so I can be happy with the results.

Sounds great I eagerly await them.
ShadowSuit  [ophavsmand] 22. mar. 2015 kl. 13:27
The shuttles are coming along nicely. The wings unfold well. I was trying to get piston doors but I think that will have to wait until they improve pistons. Mostly just adding finishing touches and a little detail before I release them.

Best firefly I have seen! Are you still workin on the shuttles ext.?
ShadowSuit  [ophavsmand] 16. mar. 2015 kl. 16:18
Yes xminor1 , though more like newly refurbished.
ShadowSuit  [ophavsmand] 14. mar. 2015 kl. 11:30
The primary buffer's on the starboard bow, don't shake it off Jim ( Player1.4... ).
popetouching 14. mar. 2015 kl. 9:46
@Avail Pursuit: Ah, okay. So its more like a newer model firefly, fresh off the production line?
Vermillion 14. mar. 2015 kl. 6:32
where is the primary buffer panel?
ShadowSuit  [ophavsmand] 13. mar. 2015 kl. 21:04
Thanks xminor1 for the suggestion. The problem I found with painting serenity is that there are actually several models and color schemes that were used for the show and movie, most of which are very drab to neutral in respect to color. This model, while attempting to be fairly accurate, is also set to be survival ready for Space Engineers. In Space Engineers paint jobs are cheap(free). I opted to make subtle enhancements and changes to the colors that would not overpower the design. It turned out with what I would call a good balance of design and moderate color enhancements.
Vigo the Dudepathian 13. mar. 2015 kl. 20:39
Ha yeah, it will only be pink if I find it in space. I pinkify everyone i finds base.
popetouching 13. mar. 2015 kl. 15:12
@Avail Pursuit: How long ago was this made? There is a paint menu where you can customise a color, and im pretty sure you could do a passable Serenity paint job.
ShadowSuit  [ophavsmand] 12. mar. 2015 kl. 21:44
Exactly my thoughts Dragonflight . I like the idea of just being able to explore. A small ship like this is just the thing for discovering new creations from the game developers as well as exporation designs from community creators.
ShadowSuit  [ophavsmand] 12. mar. 2015 kl. 21:35
I considered using armor and thruster mods but wanted to keep it mod free. I figure others can make changes based on their own mod preferences. I used a combination of models from online for reference as well as my own prefences for color. If Mal was surviing in Space Engineers he would give her a paint job too, or Kaylee wold sneak out and do it (notice it's not a pink version).
Dragonflight 12. mar. 2015 kl. 21:34
Looking forward to trying this out. The problem with a lot of ships here is that they assume you have the complete tech base. When you're just starting, and get a few things working, you want a small but exploration-capable vessel. This looks like it should be fun to build.
popetouching 12. mar. 2015 kl. 13:38
Best one i have seen yet, but the colors are wrong.
Vigo the Dudepathian 12. mar. 2015 kl. 5:49
should use uncle stus armor mod, could make the design much better. GREAT FKN WORK THO, don't want you too think I am poo ing it.
SONAR 12. mar. 2015 kl. 4:13
We need companions for our ships! =)
ShadowSuit  [ophavsmand] 12. mar. 2015 kl. 2:52
I liked the series and movie, but studying plans and schematics of Serenity gave me a deep appreciation for the creativity that went into it's design.
JCapt 11. mar. 2015 kl. 10:09
Nice job. The design is good.
SONAR 11. mar. 2015 kl. 4:24
I've one too =) but it's not finished yet

Great to see more firefly fans, go on Mate!

k cant wait 4 dat
ShadowSuit  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2015 kl. 13:46
Thanks for the reminder Sudsierharp0700 . I plan to add the shuttles and cargo mule in future blueprints but they are not complete. I plan to have rotating wing extensions for the shuttles and am still working out the mechanics for them.
TheWendigo_Alpha 8. mar. 2015 kl. 9:04
can u put the other two small ships in
xenolego 7. mar. 2015 kl. 20:47
