A few years late to the scene but @Colcheeky, yes, there is multiple spellings of various words in the English lexicon so no complaints there but the reason it's called 'Aliens' and not 'Alien 2' has significance. In the first one you only had to contend with one xenomorph but in the second movie there was an entire settlement crawling with them. The movie, likely due to having a different directors (not that I'm complaining, loved both Alien and Aliens), took a different approach. The second film is more based on action and occasional jump scares as opposed to the horror thriller theme from the first film.

Antho729 I know this is an old thread, but 'Favourite' is the English spelling, 'Favorite' is the American spelling.

Aliens is the second movie, so I see no problem calling is Alien 2, it conveys the same meaning.
