great idea! Usually, the Longswordsman is a completly useless and lackluster unit, but maybe it is finally worth researching steel with this mod.

I have the Roman Eques and the two Roman buildings the Forum and the Garden replacement. I Also have Enlightenment Era, but it doesn't make the Long-Swordsman, Praetorians? Too many unique units? Or is Enlightenment Era Messing this one up somehow?

Is this compatible with JFD’s Julius Caesar?

can this work in multiplayer?

To make it more realistic you could make it harder to produce and dont give it as high a combat strength but make it earlier on.

Not sure if you are still working on this, but perhaps you could upload a RED modpack compatible version? Good mod regardless, roman unit bonuses are too short lived.

See what you can do. Still, you deserve praise for your work! Well done :)

@KaijuJaegar19 Shoot I can change the unit scale down to fit with RED but it would make the unit strange when used without the RED modpack.
Spaceman27 10. juli 2015 kl. 8:11
it saddens me, but the praetorians are not to scale with the other models, meaning they arent compatible and are not affected by the RED mod pack.

This looks awesome now! Im gonna give this a try and ill let you know if its compatible with RED.
Thank you for you work in all this :)

@KaijuJaegar19 Yes the new screenshots showed have been uploaded already and I think that it should be compatible yes! :p
Spaceman27 9. juli 2015 kl. 11:50
Will you add new screenshots to showcase the changes made ?

P.s. will this be comaptable with the RED mod pack mod ?
Nitro_Hawk  [ophavsmand] 9. juli 2015 kl. 9:04
@Realism Killed The Game Yes actually the Praetorians look like Praetorians
Nitro_Hawk  [ophavsmand] 8. juli 2015 kl. 22:51
Praetorian now has its own unit art from civ 4!! Should I add a promotion that grants the Praetorian 15% defense against ranged attacks?
Nitro_Hawk  [ophavsmand] 6. juli 2015 kl. 13:18
@KaijuJaegar19 Thanks for the advise adding it now as we speak! :p

It would be cool if you could use the skin that the RED mod pack gives to the roman longswordsman unit. They would look like what their name states and be badass unique longswordsman for Rome.

@alxlabs Its an alpha mod and just a fun little mod, it also states in the description that the art for the unit is not changed and if someone wanted to send me the art to do so they can and it would be greatly appreciated. I made this mod for my self a while back without any thought to post it for others but I thought hey maybe someone would get a kick out of being able to use the unit again.

And ive answered my own question, nope.
If they looked like praetorians i wouldve definetly gotten the mod but as it is, NOPE.
marat1793 15. mar. 2015 kl. 11:16
Do the praetorians LOOK like praetorians?

@Mr.Gulo-Gulo Thanks for the information, I can change it for you if you like and send you the file? For anyone this is just a small mod that is meant for fun nothing serious any more suggestions are welcomed!

I think it would make more sense for them to replace pikemen, longswordsmen are late medival units and the praetorians were disbanded in the 4th century.
