when i use it it never deploys the explosives?
Stevros1903 15. jan. 2017 kl. 14:49
Thanks for reply dude. Love the designs will keep playing to see if i can get it to work.
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 15. jan. 2017 kl. 14:20
That's really odd.. I don't really know, some workshop error perhaps?
Stevros1903 14. jan. 2017 kl. 16:28
Hay guys am i being silly but when i subscribe to this item i only seem to get the latest locus not this version anyone know why this could be?
Obi™ 24. juni 2016 kl. 5:59
ive used it in multiplayer againts someone who used a massive ship with light armor
i destroyed he's plating and caused massive damage to the interior sections
Captain Einsicht 25. aug. 2015 kl. 5:07
someone used it in multiplayer? some experience?
mouse6765 18. juni 2015 kl. 13:51
This is awesome.
Mx. Amber 8. juni 2015 kl. 13:04
Blueprint version?
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 25. apr. 2015 kl. 18:24
Thanks! Still working on ways to improve it (on version 4 now) so appreciate the feedback :)
zachiyo123 25. apr. 2015 kl. 18:16
should replace two of the decoy parts with bombs so that it is more affective and so you don't waste as much resources on the heeps of decoys that are left behind. really good idea though
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 13. apr. 2015 kl. 1:08
It's the ownership of the stuff in the projection itself causing it.. need to be sure both the projection blueprint and the lotus itself are owned by Nobodyt or by ME.

Will try re-uploading this later today
BadWolf524 12. apr. 2015 kl. 18:07
the welders only weld the merge blocks how do i fix that?
Maerlande 11. apr. 2015 kl. 15:51
is it moded?

also love the idea
Murphy Turis 22. mar. 2015 kl. 17:17
Yeah its broken. it only produces Mergeblocks.
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 18. feb. 2015 kl. 3:15
@King Sirloin It's default actually but only Timer Blocks get those 9 tabs, I guess they expected some very complex timer block actions :)
King Sirloin 17. feb. 2015 kl. 20:12
I noticed you have 9 toolbar tabs in the g-menu. Default is 4. Is there a mod to increase them? Thanks.
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 8. feb. 2015 kl. 17:45
I've actually used it on a DS.. was 'ok' but doesn't perform anything like it does in SP or even MP not on a DS. Yeah should be very easy to reconfigure, just need to tweak 2 timers (4 and 5 iirc)
ChoMar 8. feb. 2015 kl. 3:44
I would guess its not survival-ready as it is with the welding time being not so instant on survival mode. So, is it possible to fiddle with the welding /merge timers without having to reconfigure everything? And i dont think it will wortk on a DS with that much objects floating... would try though, cause i can.

Laser lance turret:
http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=355663672&searchtext=laser+lance

It's small (1x1x2) as the twin missile launcher so you can place a lot of them compared to the standard gatling turret and it fires no missiles (works better with the armor my ship is using)
Magrivoy 6. feb. 2015 kl. 14:15
ok ill try it ;)
thx
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2015 kl. 13:53
Check ownership, it's gonna be todo with that.. consider changing everything to owned by nobody, sometimes fixes things.
Magrivoy 6. feb. 2015 kl. 7:13
only producing the mergeblocks...
no warheads or decoys :/
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2015 kl. 2:46
So missile and/or lag generator depending on ship size... sounds about right I guess, can't do a huge amount about the engine not being able to handle that much going on. What are these laser lance turrets? :)
Lynnuxx 5. feb. 2015 kl. 16:23
I tested this on pretty large ships so far. The lag was slowing movement resulting in a lot of the warheads and decoys being shot before reaching the target. Now when I test it on a smaller ship (still 150+ meters) it's much faster and almost the whole cloud is reaching the target.
Laser lance turrets seem not to shoot, though...[1.068]
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 3. feb. 2015 kl. 17:53
@KillaCyte Glad you approve! *evilgrin*
KillaCyte 31. jan. 2015 kl. 13:57
What a monster! I have a few death lotus designs, but this thing is titanic compared to them!
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 19. jan. 2015 kl. 15:18
But of course is in theory not needed/could be moved
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 19. jan. 2015 kl. 15:17
Both versions work, the dodgy one just doesn't like it when there's stuff exploding near it.. I think the issue with it targetting the lotus itself is the stupid cockpit sitting on the front of it, it has a very high priority as far as turrets are concerned and invariably ends up slightly in front of the decoys
Lynnuxx 19. jan. 2015 kl. 14:56
The Death Lotus is ideal to test the layout of your cannons/missile launchers. I did other tests on my ship, this time with the turrets targeting movable objects on (first time this setting was off) and then also with missile launchers. The torp is somehow targeted first and I'm not sure if the decoys are really working. Are they active ?
So damage by the Death Lotus was less (just scratches) but the missile launchers did far more damage to the own ship afterwards, finally resulting in at least as much damage as without turrets.
A test on the TVSI-Phoenix Avalon Command Carrier did less damage because the layout of the gatlings and missile launchers on this ship is pretty good.
Oh, I used "The working one.." in the tests. Is the dodgy version working, too ?
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 19. jan. 2015 kl. 2:23
@Lynnuxx lol :) Good to hear that even with what are clearly some solid defenses it still did it's job of reaching the target intact.. be interested to see if you come up with anything specific to deal with the "cloud" portion although I'll admit against heavy targets that's more of a distraction and area denial approach than actually that damaging.

Now I need to make a 2nd component that follows in afterwards clearly!
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 19. jan. 2015 kl. 2:20
Yeah to add variable speeds to it it'll almost certainly need a programming block (or a ton of timers set to different speeds which will look at bit random to begin with but eventually will show a repeat pattern.. plus ofc massively increase the size of it too)

Yeah possible to shrink it too, can loose the main warhead pretty much and just have the cloud generator parts.

As for reports of it breaking in latest update, can someone confirm what ownership settings are being used when it refuses to weld the projections?

Radiation 17. jan. 2015 kl. 19:46
I dont suppose you could use a piston with the welder and merge blocks to allow it to manufacture the sub munitions at vary speed? I imagine with the programmable block you could pull this off.
Radiation 17. jan. 2015 kl. 19:43
Seeing it in action is truly awesome, spiral arms of death. Is there anyway you could reduce the size without losing its functionality? Is it possible to have it accelerate slowly, giving it more time to generate the cloud, then use gravity to speed the cloud towards the enemy, once it is sufficiently dispersed?
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 17. jan. 2015 kl. 2:40
Yeah, need to be positioned 1 block in front of each merge ring so when at full speed they line up properly :)
Mr. Irish 16. jan. 2015 kl. 21:43
Things like this are why we need shields....
Martian Patriot 16. jan. 2015 kl. 21:09
Its only welding the merge blocks for me
Lynnuxx 16. jan. 2015 kl. 18:58
Launched the Death Lotus at my cap ship (WIP). Was an awesome view flying with the torp, the "cloud" evolving and approaching my ship. Then the fireworks... The conversation on board could have been like this:

Crew: "We've been hit by the Death Lotus, Sir !"
Captain: "All stations, damage report !"
Batteries: "Two batteries destroyed, one was cut off by friendly fire. One battery heavily damaged. The three batteries not facing the incoming... uhm, cloud (?) are fully operational."
Captain: "Were the batteries manned during the attack ?"
Batteries: "No, Sir !"
Fire Control: "4 Gatling turrets destroyed, Sir !"
Captain: "How many left ?"
Fire Control: "A lot, still counting, Sir ! Somehow forgot how many we have. I'm still shaking..."
...
Lynnuxx 16. jan. 2015 kl. 18:45
Maintainance crew: "Outer hull damaged over the whole length of the ship. Breaches at the blast door. Inner hull damaged at impact point of torpedo."
Captain: "Anything got through ? Interior damage ?"
Maint. Crew: "Negative, Sir ! Engines didn't get a scratch, too !"
Captain: "Not a single engine lost ?"
Maint. Crew: "No, Sir, we've been lucky. The angle wasn't good enough for that."
Logistics: "Conveyor system 100% operational, all remaining turrets still connected."
Captain: "Power systems ? Navigation ? Defense systems ? Cargo ?"
Crew: "No damage, Sir !"
Captain: "Good... good ! I will send the report to HQ. They will be pleased for that this ship is not finished yet. We have to make a few improvements, though. Engineering crew, meet me in the mess hall in 30 minutes..."
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2015 kl. 17:17
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlnXnoxO27M should explain how to change permissions on things, basically all you need todo
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2015 kl. 17:13
Details on how to make it work there!
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2015 kl. 17:13
Read the description dude :)
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2015 kl. 16:28
@TSC | Peredhel Yeah has also been suggested elsewhere and I think I'll make a new craft for that purpose, there's a few bits I could change to make it more effective if the goal wasn't to smash the ship into the target at the end :) Cheers!
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2015 kl. 16:27
@Lynnuxx Lol, taking that as a pretty awesome compliment :)
Peredhel 16. jan. 2015 kl. 16:18
just one idea to envolve it:
make the carrier-torpedo reuseable, so you don't waste the hole torpedo and you only use the cluster to caus really dmg and save the resources for the torpedo
Lynnuxx 16. jan. 2015 kl. 16:16
Checklist of a capital ship designer:
- Torpedoes: no problem
- Wheel of Death: no problem
- Missiles: stay out of range, no problem
- Death Lotus: hmm, back to the desk...
El Lindo 16. jan. 2015 kl. 16:02
Brilliant! :starsandstripes: :spacerunplanet:
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2015 kl. 12:34
Cheers :)
LittleDeerTears 16. jan. 2015 kl. 7:16
this is amazing.
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2015 kl. 6:44
Yeah I'm guessing so but honestly I know so little about coding whether thats a route/the best route I have no idea :)
