Amazing mod, can't wait for the renaming feature, thank you for your work and take your time

I think renaming things is compiled because I didn't find anything in ymls about that. But I've found the condition is "is_colonial_subject = yes"

http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3620856927&searchtext=rename

So I've done a renaming mod by add that and pretend subjects to be colonials. It causes some vassal issues but I think it's worth. Maybe bro you can fix and Integrate them in your mod.

"Allowing renaming regular subjects." THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!

If thats possible, you should add the ability to block colonial nations from building towns over certain valueable rgos and force them to always work (subsidize or at least not close) plantations

@Hazy @Tassassin, I try to always have my mods up to date with the latest stable version of the game (currently 1.0.9). I'll look into what's breaking it in the beta branch, but based on how my mod is made, if something is breaking it on 1.10, fixing it would likely break it for 1.0.9, in which case I wouldn't push the update until 1.10 becomes stable.

Hi, is it possible to make this mod work on beta branches as well? Im currently on 1.10, but it seems like it does not load into the save, sadly :D
Hazy 8 DIC a las 2:33
Is this only for v1.0.10 beta or can I use it with v1.0.9

If you stop constant inter-colonial wars I will kiss you in the lips.

@Conner tysm im so ocd about where to colonize/prefer to do it myself rather than letting them do it ♥♥♥♥♥
Liberater 7 DIC a las 15:00
renaming regular subjects would be legendary

That's awesome. You a hero!
Conner  [autor] 7 DIC a las 12:30
@Militus Immortalis, thanks and sure thing I'm pretty sure this is doable.
Militus Immortalis 7 DIC a las 12:24
Oh, btw - if you CAN at all, allow you to call allies into vassals' rebellions etc. ;-;
Militus Immortalis 7 DIC a las 11:40
@Conner
Haha, my expectations - nor anyone's - should matter to you! ♥ Just mod and enjoy it, trying to do that too. c: This seems like an awesome quality of life mod.
KSchwertner 7 DIC a las 11:18
excellent mod!!
Conner  [autor] 7 DIC a las 10:02
@Militus Immortalis thanks, hopefully it will live up to your expectations :)

I will be watching this with great interest!

@M E A T I didn't even know this was possible. And yeah given the theme of this mod of letting overlords' decide the colonial borders, I'll prevent them from doing so. And looking this up I also found that tributaries are able to declare war on vassals & fiefdoms , which it seems like a oversight I'll fix as well (make it so they can only declare on other tributary-type subjects).

@Alma_Negra, For the AI I disabled all but the cede/sieze province, and sieze/cede location as those were already present in vanilla, and can be used to achieve the same thing as the rest, just with more clicks. Also I didn't want to potentially add any lag letting them evaluate this/was not sure if the AI would even utilize them correctly. But they have the same ability to grant/sieze land to colonial subjects within the same subcontinent without increasing liberty desire. If it ends up with them creating bordergore or anything then I'll make the interactions vanilla requirements apply for AI, but thus far I haven't found this to be the case.

@Darkborne, @BingBadaCOOM: So this is possible, I've done it for my trade company mod, but the only way I've found to do so is setting `is_colonial_subject = yes` for each subject type (but they are still a separate type). At least for trade companies I've yet to find any unintended consequences. But there are a few places that its referenced, such as preventing changing primary religion or culture. I could go through and change all of these references to check the subject type, instead of the flag, but it makes the mod less maintainable. Although there is not that many references, so I may do it anyways.

@Agraza Yeah that makes sense. Honestly its probably better to make them smaller in game too (so they have great average control). I've just liked the aesthetic of the large colonies. But you can use this mod to make them smaller too, that was just my own personal example.
M E A T 7 DIC a las 7:47
what about when my colonies attack each other?
quebeco 7 DIC a las 4:43
This is great! It makes colonizing so much less of a pain.
BingBadaCOOM 6 DIC a las 20:34
Could you add renaming of vassals like you can colonies?
Alma_Negra 6 DIC a las 18:03
Does AI use this
Darkborne 6 DIC a las 17:57
probably never gonna be feature but a rename feature would go hard , seen a guy do it with states mod but doenst work outside of states
Agraza 6 DIC a las 17:02
i like that before/after but would prefer that the AI make smaller colonies. for their own sake, they should want the colonies to be slightly more granular such that they can't rival the crown. things like french louisiana were never actually a specific colony, just a big area france claimed and others somewhat respected because they had other things to work on. canada and usa only became what they are today after uniting all the companies and colonial charters in the area.

spain probably had the biggest ones, but they also delegated it differently, and they shattered into pieces during the napoleonic period (thanks to french/british forcing it) because they really couldn't manage being that size without spain propping them up. the viceroyalty of new spain was enormous, but the other spanish colonies were more limited, especially as their claimed territory was superficial. likewise the spanish colorado/california was more of a dream than a reality.
Conner  [autor] 6 DIC a las 15:00
@Spartan Yes I'm fairly certain this is doable, so I'll add it in when I have a chance (likely next weekend).
Conner  [autor] 6 DIC a las 14:59
@PrazzleRazzle not 100% sure on this, as I think rebellions act a bit differently then standard wars (as there is the annex/surrender button that I'm guessing is based on the respective war leaders). But I would certainly like this as well. So I've added it to the todo list and if I can figure out how then I'll make this change.
Spartan 6 DIC a las 14:37
would it be possible to add a disallow colonization button for colonial subjects?
Aristidebancevu 6 DIC a las 14:31
*Separate unrestricted location-transfer tool mod * I cant wait for this thank you
PrazzleRazzle 6 DIC a las 14:17
is there a way for you to make it so that when a subject has a rebellion, or a secession war, that you end up as the war leader and not them?
they keep ceding land away for no reason
Conner  [autor] 6 DIC a las 14:02
@JGdaCaesar thanks! I really hated always having to look over everytime on of my colonies finished, trying to figure out which subject it should go to, often to find that there is no option to give it to the right subject, despite being one province away. So then I just starting keeping all the land to divy out later, but often wouldn't be able to give it to the subject I want since its not connected. Only to eventually have the locations rebel because I'm holding onto non-integrated provinces while waiting because I don't want to spawn a million tiny one provinces subjects :steamsad:. And so I made this!
JGdaCaesar 6 DIC a las 13:50
Great mod dude! been looking for something like this for a min
