Yep, something like that :-). Another variant on this idea would be a whole separate cargo interface for travel supplies and ammo, independent from the normal one.

Your idea with separable stacks on top of that is dang good, too.

Something like a favorite button for items to keep them from being dropped, right? Ideally you could specify an amount to seperate into a different stacks so you could, say, drop the steel you have loaded up without dropping the steel you use for the vehicle's weapons. That would be mighty convenient.

for now it still needs VF as a dependency
I can try to change that so it works for shuttles without VF but it'll take me some time

What I'd love to see for vehicle cargo is a compartment of sorts that doesn't get emptied when you hit the "drop all cargo" button. I'm getting tired of either A) having to load bedrolls, provisions and spare fuel again and again every time I launch a longer tour, or B) having to manually click around these items while unloading the vehicle upon its return. Colonists have this inventory option to always carry X amount of Y items with them (drugs, medicine, stuff like that). If something like this could be implemented for vehicles, it'd be awesome AF.

however, Small Vehicle Add-ons has a gizmo for loading everything nearby

It would be very cool to add a radius for resource collection. For example, going to the other side of the map to collect wood, corpses, or wounded colonists. I want the resources to be collected near the vehicle, not from the base.
