It's certainly possible, given that all mods have that potential, but given that it seems to work fine on most user's systems, I would look into client side issues first.

is there a possibility this crashes the game? I can't get mine to work. it used to work fine with mods.

good mod, good alternative to "no grind" having 1000000 books was unideal.

That is half the point. If you don't like the idea of removing that grind, don't use this mod.

kind of gets rid of all the point of going for higher emotion or replaying a reception too stabilize your posistion in the library's progress
