I'd like such a feature. Well, and add a checkbox in the config like "falling tree deals damage", which is disabled by default. Let people choose the desired scenario themselves.

Ah exactly, that's my problem. I've been trying to find out why my default tree textures haven't been showing up when I have the correct TileIDs. this Is very helpful, I can now make a fix. thank you

I’ve noticed a visual bug on cutting down non-forest or palm trees: the wrong trunk texture renders on the falling tree. Mahogany trees become pearlwood, shadewood becomes underground mahogany, etc.
