@BioVolck Because if the Amazon skeleton was identical to the elves, then I would agree, plop the Dark Elf animations they use for Cold One Riders but unfortunately the Amazons use the default human skeleton (Emp, Brt, etc) and they use Horse Mounts. I never seen an Empire Cold One calvary mod in the Workshop so I have no basis or reference. I'd have to learn how to edit animation sets etc.

It's not like it never crossed my mind to Cold One Riders. I wanted to Cold One mounts for the Priestess as well but it's just really that difficult!

I don't know how to create mods, it's not for me to tell you what to do, but you said that "cold-blooded riders" are difficult to make, but won't you be able to take a preset of a standard unit with a spear and replace it with an amozonok (slightly editing the characteristics)?Alternatively, you can plant Amazons (archers) on terradons, like the "Hawk Riders" of the forest elves.

I recently dabbled in landmarks just yesterday.

Was thinking of giving them their own custom building so all the Amazonians were in one place.

ah so its an infantry builidng mod instead of a landmark?

could you upload the amazon priestess separately? I dont want to change vanilla unit balance, But i would like to use the heroines.

I've been thinking about mounted cold ones but calvary units are sorta tricky because you gotta have to involve multiple rigs. I'll give it a shot as maybe my last unit for this mod

Yup, the Huntresses benefit from Skink tech and the Totem Guardians benefit from the same stuff as Temple Guards

Do they benefit from any lord, tech, etc skill,etc buffs?

@Walkabout I am told that OvN is still in the works for both Amazons and Halflings, tho no confirmation on a release date for either.

At the moment, I am milling about adding maybe one or two more units and adding stuff to the Priestess Hero (ancillaries/mount). Treat this mod as kinda like a LL pack with 4-5 newish units as opposed to a full on race pack like VC / Tomb Kings.

I hope you guys will still like this mod till the big one comes out!

is OvN still working on the Amazon standalone or do you intend to do it? Just curious.

building_effects_junction_tables
The effect for recruiting is only applied to wh2_main_lzd_worship_oldones_1, not the higher level buildings oldones_2 and oldones_3. Same for the horde buildings
every effect has to be applied to each building tier separately, same as recruitment.

I think I know what you mean? I get a message "you can't unlock this unit yet" even though you have the building up. I think it's a roundabout way of saying, they have alrdy been recruited/ not available? I still manage to get them by just having to wait for the hero pool to refresh.

If there are some db tables in RPFM I should add/tweak, please let me know!

Question, is it intended, that you can only recruit the priestess from the lowest tier of Shrine of the Old ones?
As in you can no longer recruit the hero once you upgrade the building.

I think it would violate their upload permissions to entirely add the warriors unit into my own mod. (Because what incentive do people have if they can also get both mods here?)

It would be awesome if you could also incorporate the melee units from Amazon mod that is on Nexus (the original one). That mod hasn't been updated in ages and has some issues with the current patch. Maybe the author would allow you to add those melee amazonian gals? If that is not too much work, of course. Awesome either way.

I've been doing a little bit more dabbling with the asset editor: Like adding an Eagle Headdresses and stuff. I think as long as people are okay with mechanically simplistic units, I could be tempted to make more units!

Like this is probably out of the scope of this mod, since this is your first unit mod and all that, but if you were up for the challenge, I think the canon amazon units from warhammer would be fun to see. Sure their from the blood bowl universe, but if you wanted an actual set of amazon units, you could use those. Those being the Eagle, Python, Piranha, and Jaguar warriors. Their designs are also really cool as well.

Unfortunately, I am not an SFO player so I don't know the ins and outs of creating a submod for it. It took me an entire week to just create the Amazon Priestess from the ground up. But go ahead if someone knows

Now that I have back up files, I can use them as a base reference to slot in more potential units in the future! Nothing too complicated tho.

Now...if you could add some amazon Cold one Riders...That would be great and a melee spear/club/mace unit. It would be damn near perfect and a bit closer to what we had in WH2 back in the days, heh

Just tried it out, working great. They look good and they make a nice little unit to snipe those dam Rats who are standing about.

Looking into the numbers about the Amazons Unit, I just slotted in wayfinders' stats.

great question! I believe I tagged them as a Skink unit in the db. So I believe they will benefit from any tech upgrades that improves skinks as well.
