Does France extensively colonizes North America too, has it did historically ?

I ain't gonna lie, making france weaker is cool and all, but trying to play french basically incapacitate me for like the first 20 years or so, can't do ♥♥♥♥

Heya, I noticed you have changed red turban rebelliions, and I'm wondering if that's doing something similiar to another mod called Fix Red Turban Rebillion by kaabistar? Trying to figure out if I wouldn't need the other mod anymore with this mod.

In .10 beta, France will instantly lose the HYW due to the disloyalty debuff. I think it needs to be removed.

It seems new country names introduced by the mod (e.g., Tarnovo) lack localization keys. I can't translate them into Korean while they remain in English. Please include them in the localization files.

Lovely mod but i think there is a bug where France's events are getting stacked leading to -300 and more subject loyalty also -90% crown power

I am already using a mod that nerfs France's subject loyalty. What exactly are you changing to nerf France and buff England, and in which files? Thx

some other mods do this already, but consider making flanders and britanny not vassals of france at the start. theres a mod that makes flanders a vassal of england and britanny a tributary of france. you should make flanders a tributary of england.

You might want to improve the mod's thumbnail in the workshop, so as to attract more people to use it. The current thumbnail is too generic. Just look at the Red turban and Timurid mods thumbnails.

Also, more images showing the tweaks, like an actual formed Spain, and/or bigger Ottomans, Portugal colonizing Brazil, etc.

Shouldn't the Golden Horde be slowly collapsing rather than instantaneously? Historically by 1450 they were starting to weaken but in my games they almost instantly break apart

Thank you for the good work, IMHO EU5 is lacking in railroading at this moment. Can you do something to prevent France from eating Aragon ? Also, giga-buffing Muscovy into forming Russia would be great

i think you should add jersey to the britain region or allow england to keep jersey/calais as they did historically

No I know, the pretender thing is game based not event based, all I did was buff progress in case the game lets it happen

btw i don't think the pretender rebels for burdgundy and britanny do anything. i changed it to + 100 progress and -20 monthly legitimacy and nothing happens.

can you make it so that flanders always goes independent along with brittanny. that way france has to conquer them

hi!!! theres already 2 mods out there for Timurid fixes and China, and I am personally working on some Ottoman issues myself which have gotten pretty good by now. I've also fixed Portugal being eaten by simply allying them to Castille early game and adding a Historical Allies opinion modifier of +100. I tried also making an easier to fire Castille/Aragon union event but I haven't tested it muc hyet. Anyway, would you like to coop on this? I really would like some more historical accuracy for this game <3

Commenting to say thanks for doing your best to tweak this frequently. Best of luck finding the best balance you can -- I usually play in the middle east region, but that doesn't mean I like seeing powers scale or die unrealistically elsewhere

Yeah I did see that post but for gameplay at the moment I do think france needs nerfing, given that otherwise they dominate all of europe by 1400 (In my games they take the lowlands and aragon before the age of discovery) which gets quite annoying playing in those regions.
Also I ran more test games and I've yet to see them properly lose the HYW, see the screenshot I added to the gallery

So keep in mind in the edwardian era of the HYW they're supposed to be rather crippled, they came out on top after the first stages of the war. Weren't even a hegemon for awhile either.
By year 1400 the debuffs all end, but even then in a lot of my test games they still win pretty hard, I'm trying to make them go from weak -> moderate power, not endgame boss.

I was downloading this mod with the expectation of keeping France in line as an AI, but by year 2 they're constantly drowned in a 13 loan debt spiral... I dont think that was what i was expecting, i was just hoping that France would be constantly coming out ahead to be a hegemon later on.

Maybe consider buffing France a little bit?

Hm, maybe I should make some of the harsher stab penalties player-only then. The ideas stacking is intentional though, but not all of them stack. (One of them even increases in severity if you select the same event option twice)

I think nerfing France is a great idea. I tried a France run with this active - I just barely made it through the first few decades before managing to turn profitable again. Reduced all spending sliders to minimum, (including armies and forts in the middle of a noble civil war). Had to ramp up inflation to 25% to avoid bankruptcy.

While this may be feasible as a human player, I imagine the AI wouldn't be able to handle it. The debuffs stack each time the event fires, making legitimacy get stuck at zero, and stability go negative. I think these should be toned down a bit - either decrease event frequency, or reduce the debuffs

Never saw a pretender civil war, but I like that idea.

Updated the mod with some new things. First, -25% peasant estate power should hopefully stop them losing to the jaquerie, additionally -0.1% rebel growth for all other estates so only the jaquerie should pop.
Additionally I've added a chance of an english pretenders modifier for all french subjects (but much higher chance for burgundy and brittany) that will make them have pretender civil wars

france has become too weak and cannot defeat the jacquerie revolt. if they lose to jacquerie, they become a republic, and the game crashes every time.

The Kingdom of France falls and the French Great Republic emerges. After that, the game crashes when I press the Hundred Years' War button.

perfect mod, was looking to make somethig like this. modding is completely different in this game vs eu4 and hoi4. do you know resources on how to make mods like this? i was trying to make triggered modifiers and other modifiers to countries but I couldn't find out how to do that.

for example, a modifier that makes venice get 20% more trade income. something simple like that

In my experience absolutely, the vassal loyalty just stops them joining the war, and even then they do anyway half the time. There doesn't seem to be a mechanic for them to betray so no matter what england is going to have less. The buff for england just gives a few hundred more levies, more morale, etc.

Is it absolutely necessary for England to be buffed? I think vassal loyalty just needs to be tuned to be more disloyal

Yeah that can def. happen, I still see them survive whenever they avoid the noble civil war. I think just since the nobles have so much power it nukes france

france crumbled into a massive noble civil war with this on multiple runs. got absolutely crushed in the 100 years war

excellent, France is just too imba now. Beat the sh!t out of everyone. There should be some events for Burgundy independent and so. At least make France border look like 1444 in eu4.

I'll give this a go! Based on what you're adding, maybe you'd like to look at stopping the HRE from annexing the entirety of German states too.

By any chance, do you know to prevent a union partner where Unified External Diplomacy is in effect from starting wars?

The events will stop showing up if either the HYW ends or the year 1400, but in my games the years of fighting usually make them much weaker through the whole timeline (still probably stronger than irl though)
