Surely the reason the US is an anocracy in 2070 in a more democratic world is to play off rivalries? If every country was democratic, rivalries wouldn't work well, and if every country was always the same for every start decade, then it would all play the same.

It may not be a commentary, it may just be to make things more dynamic.

The 2070 scenario is on the 4.95 Beta Branch of the game and later versions. While it isn't the Cold War scenario promised in the kick starter, the 2070 scenario exists to basically give an option for an easier game for most players or those who want a challenge as now every faction starts with Lunar and Martian outposts, a space station or 2, and 2 fleets.

I was curious about this as well, but I took eiu democracy index data for usa from 2006-2024 and projected it forward assuming linearity (tracks very close to a downward trending line) and it came out to about 6.7. They could just be taking the current year trends, multiplying them by a factor, then projecting to 2070 lol. Although india democracy index is the same in both scenarios (6.91, which is from 2021), but its basically a bumpy flat line so who knows. Maybe they just had every country run its default IPs until 2070 or something?

I don't think it was political commentary alone. A lot of sci-fi/futuristic settings like Cyberpunk have america turn towards dictatorship.

Though it is your choice to play with america as a republic.

I have the 0.4.98 Validation release. No mods installed other than this one, unity mod manager is uninstalled as well. CTD after loading into main screen. I have verified the game files, and double checked the mods folder. Yours is the only one in the enabled, the disabled folder is empty. Is there anything else you can think I should try to isolate to find the issue?

Mod works for me on 0.4.98. Make sure you aren't running any mods that modify TINationTemplate.json

Subbed to this mod because I agree with you. I just don't see USA loosing its democratic status. CTD upon game loading in. Crashes every time. Using version 0.4.98.

I like how this game brings up the conversation at least, but of course that's the appeal to the game itself imo.

Thank you for this, it's annoying and offensive when the Devs put their petty political swipes into the game.
