I mean, this kinda works more than stuff like prop hunt, i honestly can give this one a pass. Hell, the extra effort on the different viewmodel animations is impressive enough for me, i just cannot say i do not like it ngl

I played the randomized once and I liked it. Haven't checked the maps, but the screenshots look cool. and I don't have my opinion, but people in the comment say it's good, so I think this should be added

Randomizer 1.2 patch notes:

- Demoman shields are now attached to everybody’s left arm in both first- and third- person.
- Visual improvements to the cross-class animations.
- Fixed being unable to headshot under certain conditions.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Dice Reroll to happen twice in a row.
- Fixed botkillers being stuck in your face.
- Purchasable taunts and the post-round loser state now use your class' base animations.
- Fixed inconsequential console spam on 32-bit Windows servers.
- Fixed minor code execution errors.
- Improved performance.
- Community servers can now create server addons, similar to VSH. The folder is scripts/vscripts/randomizer_addons/

Nah it has area portals, fades, and occluders, but it could definitely use better hints. I’m sorry about the fps lag and will look into it very soon

i heard from a friend that the map doesn't have any areaportals (he checked) which lags him. is a problem for many people who don't have better end PCs

Frankenizer b5 changes:
- Fixed holes in map geometry

Randomizer changes:
- Fixed Heavy holding invisible weapons
- Fixed players preserving their overheal buff while being rerolled
- Fixed spies dealing mini-crits from behind with ranged weapons- he can still minicrit with melee weapons, as intended
- Updated the Dice to have less abrasive visuals and sounds

Oh hell yeah ! I can't wait to play this once and then forget about it cuz of a shitty matchmaking system and map bloat ! :D
Overall the rerolling system is useless, cuz it encourages players to just sit in spawn until they'll get a "good loadout".
randomizer IMHO is about trying to make the most of your current loadout you rolled to help out yourself with getting some kills and to help out your team with the objective.
Trying to shove a community based gamemode is like trying to hire a vet to do a human surgery.

Yeah unfortunately the tf_glow entity can be really fickle sometimes. I'll add sprites to the map that u can see thru walls and keep them high up enough that they're unobtrusive

@Diva Dan Moreso I got lost without knowing which point was made active. Not sure if it's a thing everyone dealt with but for some reason I wasn't able to see them highlighted through the map geometry.

I'm gonna keep a close eye on how the dice get used, for sure. When playing on Crash's server, Aar's server, and TF2maps' servers, the lobbies were all about 30-50 minutes in length, and I didn't see camping in those- that being said! When Shounic ran the maps for like 6-ish hours yesterday, people started camping dice after playing for a few hours, so I wonder if its more a symptom of fatigue or anything. What server did you play the mode on, and what did the match length look like? And how do you feel about the dice that are scattered around the map?

Please remove the reroll dice. There are like 6 teammates waiting for a good loadout at the spawn. It kills the point of randomizer.

My eyes are in pain because of this bright white effect when you roll new loadout each time, you need to replace it 100% sure with something neutral like maybe green sparkles. Gamemode is fun to play,

@acien I’m sorry about the directions to the points being confusing- do you think there should be floating icons above either point? It’s what other PD maps do, but I didn’t wanna add more visual noise on top of randomizer already being a lot to take in. How would people feel about such an addition? Do yall have a similar issue with navigation?

Oh, and about broken stuff, I’m personally confident we will iron these things out (we’ve already made great progress on fixing heavy’s animations and new models/sounds in the pipes,) but actions speak louder than words, and we’ll roll these fixes out as we do them.

Thank you jimbover and KingJengo for still giving the map a try, even if it’s not your thing- even if it’s a vote “no”, it takes effort to go out and play it and give it some honest thought, especially if it wasn’t your kind of thing already. If Lizard or I had any say in the matter, I’d gut the Halloween contract system completely. I don’t like how it feels like you’re forced to play every map, either. Generalized contracts would be significantly better. Anyways, thank you for playing! and I’ve decided I’ll be uploading a normal daytime version of the map at some point for people who just wanna play normal PD.

Actually played the map. Aside from things like animations bugging out and a lack of direction to where the points are, it's still a decent bit of fun. The map design itself is appealing, both visually and gameplay-wise. Hoping the few bugs and issues are figured out if Valve does pick this up

As a casual-bound player who rarely frequents community servers, I actually feel like randomizer isn't too out of place for the experimental SF maps we've already gotten. Been wanting to try it for a while anyhow so it'd be a nice way to give new players an introduction to it

Playing this again, my thoughts remain the same. I like how this map plays, and I like Player Destruction, but the Randomizer is highly unnecessary. Yes, I'm aware that hypothetically if this got added, I could just not play it. But unfortunately, I would still have to because of the contracts.

Also the amount of things unpolished and broken both here and in Roulette is very concerning for how little time is left before Scream Fortress. Overall, my mind remains unchanged and I believe Randomizer should just stay a community thing. Plus, I honestly don't have faith in additional community gamemodes becoming official, especially with VSH and ZI both not being fun in a Casual setting even when there's enough players.

OK, I played the map like you asked me to. My opinion has not changed and I still hold my ground that this map would be better without randomizer slapped onto it. I'm glad you did let me in on your design process what with the reroll mechanic and lots of health kits. I realized maybe I just don't like randomizer to begin with.

Very fun mode, fixes a lot of issues of randomizer. Has a few little things that need fixing, but the maps are solid and the mode is a blast. Rerolls are a really nice option to have.

I've had a think about it and honestly I've warmed up on the idea, especially since you've introduced at least some class identity (medics still heal, engies still build, spies still spy) and made rolling a bad loadout less punishable (what with TF2's respawn times). Not the biggest fan of PD, though - would've rather this map be KOTH with a slightly longer timer, personally.
