The game just crashes randomly when there is non combat moments or the mod is played in "complex" maps such as the campaing maps with non combat or modded maps, the mod is great when it works thought! :missing:

@biddin console logs would be helpful i've created a discussion about crashes. Please post it there if you can. Thank you.

I really hope this addon gets fixed soon because this is so cool when it works

Update: I dug in my files and realized that .MDMP files are being generated upon crash, I can possibly provide these OR just send over a copy of everything printed to the console.

randomly

This is without ever getting involved with any combat btw, seems to happen even if no enemies are present.

Crashes on entanglement after ~3 minutes and arms race after 1 minute, doesn't crash at all on the testing map. This is with only AlyxLib and this mod enabled. There are a bunch of ResourceSystem errors printed out into the console when the game is loaded into a map that end with ERROR_FILEOPEN

@biddin @CHAPO could you please provide some additional info on when these crashes are happening. Would be helpful to know what map you're playing on as well as when the crashes occur (either when dismemberment occurs or just randomly). Thanks!

can agree with previous reports, also experiencing crashes with only this mod and AlyxLib enabled

Unfortunately, this mod is causing many crashes and some bugs, such as headcrabs jumping and ending up levitating to the ceiling and glitching. It happened many times.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but this addon causes me a lot of random crashes

Apart from shooting some limbs away from Combine and having organic chunks everywhere, the extraordinary brutal thing is that some are still breathing and in pain, so you can give them the "Merci-Shot" bullet through to the head.
That's gruesome. And also very bloody. Great work.
Made a playthrough with it on my old map Combine Un-Safety

Been playing with the mod more, just wanted to mention something that might be a bug- When the soldiers (might just be grunts) are killed from a headshot or any other fatal damage without activating the gore system (Like on the ground and motionless, but intact), they still make "ouch" noises upon being shot until dismembered. Still a badass mod though!

Yo how do I play without vr like that

I really REALLY like the dismemberment. But I think the blood is a little too over the top. They're have armor but they spill liquit like they're a wet sponge. Plus since the armor doesn't get dirty from all the blood, it just looks weird in my opinion. The idea is amazing, but the blood is just too distracting for me, I wish there was a version with only the dismemberment. Still, great work tho

@wmafranz Thanks! Ill look into the headshot issue, there arent meant to be any difficulty changes. I’ll take a look and see if I’ve accidentally changed some of the damage multipliers.

Ok so I tried the mod, just one thing- When I would shoot the troops in the head, they seem to take way less headshots to die, which I feel makes the game too easy. Not a big deal as installing Merciless over it gave me roughly what I wanted, but assuming this IS part of this mod, and not a weird issue on my end, a console variable to disable the health changes would be great!

That being said, the mod in general is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick, and I love it. Especially the physics "head flaps" when you blow out their brains. Explosive damage is listed as a planned feature it seems, but even now it's excellent, the first time I hit the valve on a grunt and the upper part of his torso blew up in a separate way from the headshots, damn that was cool. Shotgun is even more endlessly satisfying to use now, and the grenade/gas can carnage is addictive.

Would love to see this get continued development! Can't wait to see what you cook up if so, and IMO if there is a best HLA modder rn, you're it!
