lol, sound files don't need DX 11. But while on the subject of sounds, are any new looping engine sounds going to come to this like an actively flying TIE engine screech?

The way I use this is to put a soundblock on the ship and select the Tie flyby sound from it's k-menu. Then I set up a sensor to play the soundblock when it gets close to a station.
The Tie ambient sound is loopable but still needs to be selected in the soundblock and then started by something: either manually, by timer or a sensor. To use both sounds at the same time requires two soundblocks on the same ship.

I've tested it just now and it's working for me. How have you set up your soundblock?

I added the sound block to my ship but I don't hear anything ?

well. u cnt forget about the tie fighter laser sound either. theres just to many to name off.

I know, a couple of people have expressed interest in that. I might have a go at finding some good samples of the falcon to add over the weekend. For other SW sounds, I think there's a Star Destroyer ambient sound mod somewhere on the workshop.

how has no one put up a millenium falcon sound block? or made star wars based mods in the first place. i c more star trek ones. which dnt get me wrong. i love star trek. but still. need more star wars based mods and full sized ship blueprints.

All I can think of is that due to the way sound blocks work, looped sounds go off if a second sound block on the same ship activates.
Other than that, is the loop duration slider set to a large number / max?

It simply wont make the sound when i click it, but the flyby works fine.
if it helps you can check my Tie Fighter and see if it works or not.

I can't seem to find anything wrong. I've tested it on a station and both large and small ships and it's working for me. Can you give me some more details about the problem so I can try to reproduce the fault. Better still you could upload your world to the workshop and give me a link so I can see what's happened.
KingdomBragg  [autor] 29 dec. 2014 la 3:25
It was working when I uploaded it. I'll look into what's gone wrong and try to fix it.

the tie ambient sound does nothing when played, how can i loop the fly by sound?

amazing mod, instant nostalga kick

Flamesword, sorry, I missed your comment but you're in luck: SEbuilder4 has made exactly what you wanted.
KingdomBragg  [autor] 14 dec. 2014 la 12:08
I'd love that, but unfortunately it's beyond my abilities. It sounds possible though; maybe you could ask some of the modders who've made thrusters if they'll do it.
Kerian Halcyon 12 dec. 2014 la 14:52
If someone can find a way to make a thruster with TIE sounds, that'd be amazing! I know that technically you can make new sounds with at least the weapons, so in theory thrusters should be able to do it too.

Thanks to Darth Biomech for providing the solution: Tie Ambient can now be looped.
Viny 12 dec. 2014 la 0:54
Thanks, I'm sure you'll figure out the problem. Keep up the good work.
KingdomBragg  [autor] 12 dec. 2014 la 0:40
I've added the ambient Tie sound, but I'm having trouble getting looping to function. You'll need to use a timer to loop it at the moment while I figure out what's wrong.
Viny 12 dec. 2014 la 0:06
I do like the idea, and this game really needs more ship noises. The devs did say that they're preparing to expland the "world", they might add something that will make that extra sound possible during gameplay sometime in the future.
KingdomBragg  [autor] 11 dec. 2014 la 23:50
I understand where you are coming from mohax, but you wouldn't get the doppler effect when passing ships as this game doesn't simulate that. I'll try to add the ambient engine sound, in addition to the fly-by.
Viny 11 dec. 2014 la 22:32
Have the sound be continuous, right now it's not that good. It's a brief sound, but in the actual TIE the sound remains the same and doesn't die off like what you have here.
Geekio 11 dec. 2014 la 16:40
I'd love it if you (or anyone else) modded in the sound of a police siren. I've wanted a sound to go with my police ship for a long time.
