Could you provide some specifics on what you're seeing? I did a quick test and they don't seem to be acting oddly. I'm not seeing any issues with them going to sleep inside.

It seems to me that the people use their bedrolls very often - they will plop one down outside even when there is a bedroll inside. And, they sometimes move them around over and over again.

@Xeo Aside from a small fix I made, this is exactly the same mod. It's all Uuugggg's original code, so it should work.

TY for the update! does this one still put their name back on their old bed when they return to the colony like the last mod did? just curious if the code is still in there for this

I wish a bedroll + tent combo were possible. There are mods that supply tents, but they fulfill the same purpose as a bedroll, it would be nice if they were for temporary shelter from the elements only while the bedroll provides the place to sleep.

Also, you should push a small update to the mod to make it appear in the Last Updated filter.
