You might be able to backdate gmod using DepotDownloader, and rolling back to what is available . The function I'm looking for was in the beta but also in versions of gmod prior to it.

I never got a working copy of GMod Beta, so i'm working with old videos and broken files over here.

If you guys can somehow restore the ability to change the primary game resources, ie: use age of chivalry's hands to replace the gravity gun or fix tf2 map textures by making it primary, this will be the upmost accurate mod.
