Does this work with RimCities? The old World Edit mod didn't, and that was kind of a deal breaker for me.
Renix 13. okt. kl. 15:59
i just want to add features/landmarks to a randomly generated world so the tile i colonize has all the features/landmarks I want. will this let me do that to a randomly generated world dynamically?
MonsieurLeCoq 13. okt. kl. 9:30
It seems that changing elevation is very important otherwise mountains and hills can't generate properly. Any plans on adding the elevation change anytime?
AlphaHawk59 12. okt. kl. 21:59
The settings were broken, but the author fixed it
AlphaHawk59 12. okt. kl. 21:40
@Jeremy Lin If you have Layered Atmosphere and Orbit, it added a new setting that groups the 3 buttons, but i don't know which setting it is, i'm testing it right now
Jeremy Lin 12. okt. kl. 20:46
map editor option on the bottom bottom is gone. idk what happen i just relaunch the game
Jeremy Lin 12. okt. kl. 4:09
How tf you add faction bro.
Barosz Gádžožrút 902 01 10. okt. kl. 8:54
can you add spawning faction bases manualy?
MESSIAH 9. okt. kl. 2:11
I have a small problem - if I generate a world with two of the same faction (eg two rough outlander unions) then rename the faction via clicking on a settlement and saving for whole faction, it renames both factions. There doesn't seem to be a way to separate them after one is changed. Is there a workaround for this, or can it be fixed? thanks
Protok 7. okt. kl. 11:02
Ok, I can put a marker. Is edit a marker planned feature?
RebelKillSwitch 3. okt. kl. 8:28
thanks for the mod! however for some reason when i paint a tile landmarks don't change only the tile biome type!
Consumption45 3. okt. kl. 3:36
Hey, is there a way to place volcanos from Mashed's Ashlands using Worldbuilder? I'm thinking of trying to recreate Tamriel
Addie 1. okt. kl. 22:39
can you add roads?
Alpharius 1. okt. kl. 21:41
a temporary fix to the road issue is using roads of the rim
the only issue is that it doesn't have certain road variants, so you can't go around building asphalt highways. (bigger version of the asphalt roads)
ferny  [ophavsmand] 1. okt. kl. 15:03
@Ferret With A Cat Hat I'll consider this, that's a really good idea
Ferret With A Cat Hat 1. okt. kl. 15:01
This is a random thing but I wonder how possible it would be to put hyperlinks to other narratives inside of narratives? Kinda Obsidian-style?
Wrath 1. okt. kl. 11:37
I'll rather wait, enabling-disabling 600 mods bores me in advance lol
Thanks for your answers and I wish you all the best
ferny  [ophavsmand] 1. okt. kl. 11:35
@Wrath Yeah you can also use the 1.5 version of the game combined with the old WorldEdit mod to modify all that, then bring it to the 1.6 version (like what AllyJamey the planet earth guy does) but we should hopefully have roads and brush sizes soon.
Wrath 1. okt. kl. 11:29
Alright, so for now, if we use this mod , we either :

1 - Start from existing/generated world and build around existing roads
or
2 - Starting from scratch (full water globe) but no roads ?

Can you confirm @ferny ?

Also with the mod road of the rims (not sure of the name but its the mod that allows the creation of roads on world map) it's possible to craft the roads once the game started, right ?
ferny  [ophavsmand] 1. okt. kl. 11:02
@MajorityOfTheInternet If you're tryna clone the world I think just duplicate it in your files instead. Go to the Rimworld root local folder and into the "Worldbuilder" folder and make its ID different
MajorityOfTheInternet 1. okt. kl. 10:49
No matter how I change the name when I want to make a new save for the same world (to backup), it keeps just saving over my old save?
ferny  [ophavsmand] 1. okt. kl. 9:10
Roads and brush sizes coming later, sorry just a few other projects i'm getting out of the way
Wrath 1. okt. kl. 9:07
Fantastic mod, but I am totally missing how I am supposed to build routes ? Is it intended in the mod ? @ferny
Skegg 30. sep. kl. 18:51
I'd love a bigger brush size adjuster tooljust for being able to cover worlds with basic terrain quickly.
Alpharius 30. sep. kl. 7:53
hey fern.
no idea what's causing it, but certain tiles cause the game to bug out during world editing.
you can't select the tiles, or turn them into other biomes, or anything really. they're just stuck like that.
no idea where I would put this so I figured the comments of your mod would be the best.
thanks for all your hard work fern.
Lionheart 30. sep. kl. 2:49
FYI imgur.com has blocked the UK from accessing it's site so your mod description which contains images hosted there, now has NO information available in that format for anyone accessing from the UK.
you may want to consider updating with a text description.
Devonte 27. sep. kl. 10:56
I think support with my little planet or a built-in system to change world sizes would be nice. I tried using it with vacworld, but it couldn’t seem to work.
Rex705 27. sep. kl. 6:03
Some one really needs to make a tutorial video for this mod lol.
ferny  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. kl. 1:21
@Panthercat64 Weird, I really think that should not be the case.
Panthercat64 25. sep. kl. 22:38
My issue has been solved, just need retextures of weapons or items to come AFTER world builder! issue resolved, but worth noting.
Giorgio Dibitonto 23. sep. kl. 3:38
@ferny

Hello dear author

Just wanna bring to your attention last update form LAO (layered athmospheric and orbit).

The mod is a framework for layers (and planet now), the last update introduce useful features to create and add:
- moons
- planets
- planets travel (grav jump)

It also added a basic vanilla moon as prove of concept.

Anyway the point is that for what I understand it make already possible use planet created with worldbuilder to spawn like moons or others planet, but I think something is still needed form WB mod directly (as compatibility) to make this easier. I think is something easy.

Would be cool if you can contact Hydra (if you are interested) to make this true, so that we can use also planets created with WB as additionals moons or other solar planet.

I think the two framework can be edit a lot form each others.
Stukov 22. sep. kl. 15:28
Works on 1.5?
Panthercat64 22. sep. kl. 13:21
Uh... I think this mod prevents mods like [k4g] weapon retexture or my own retexture mod from changing what the default texture is on a item.

Any workarounds or settings I'm missing? I do not like the default textures, which is why I use a replacement mod.
Gabe Knight 21. sep. kl. 7:08
Thanks Ferny, you rock my good sir.
qux 21. sep. kl. 3:47
Hi, no news about futur update ?
clownkitty 20. sep. kl. 21:26
I want to be able to edit in roads on command, but I can't seem to figure it out. Is it a feature yet?
Gabe Knight 20. sep. kl. 20:29
EDIT: Ok I found how to do. Hope it'll help others. Select first the characteristics of the tile you want to change, press 'paint tile' and here where I thought it was going to change the previously selected tile, instead, only then, select the files you want to paint and change.
Gabe Knight 20. sep. kl. 20:10
It looks great but I can't make it work. I just want to modify a tile's landmarks, but how do I do? I added the landmarks I wanted and pressed "done", but it won't change anything to the selected tile? Thanks
plusing123 (dragonheart) 20. sep. kl. 19:49
question is there a way to add things like under ground water and oil to maps? (i was trying to use vac world but it didn't have any of those)
Elidurden123 19. sep. kl. 23:58
Really cannot wait for the brush tool. Vanilla planet generation is frustrating as all hell.
Marble Pony Pie 16. sep. kl. 9:31
This mod is amazing! I'm creating my own planet with this framework and it is really easy to add and tweak things. Patiently waiting for an update of this mod. Editing settlements and raods will open a whole new dimension of storytelling
Zappy The Floof 13. sep. kl. 18:59
ahh that would do it
ferny  [ophavsmand] 13. sep. kl. 18:33
@Zappy The Floof Roads and river editing aren't in yet
Zappy The Floof 13. sep. kl. 15:46
how in the shit does this ting work? I cant find the menus for roads, settlements, rivers, only to change what a tile is
Mozetronick 11. sep. kl. 11:57
Yes, I changed the tile's status from "Impassable Mountains" to "Mountains" (normal). Yes, the "Map Preview" even generated what could be there. No, the "Route Edit Mode" tool still bypasses this place because "This area is impassable". No, "Send Caravan" there also doesn't work because "your settlers can't reach this place". WAIDW?
Clairelenia 9. sep. kl. 13:23
:( hmm kay ... jea it's a big mod, that why it overlaps with some others unfortunately.

Too bad, 5 years ago this tile/map editor was a standalone mod and super tiny. So probably it would have been easy to just extract it from this mod ^^ thanks for your responses.
ferny  [ophavsmand] 9. sep. kl. 13:11
@Clairelenia Nah this mod is a complex behemoth under the hood. Would not be a good idea at all to seperate out that. Never happening, at least not by me.
Clairelenia 9. sep. kl. 13:09
Realistic Planet Generation overhauls the complete planet generation with more sliders and much more customisation ^^ unfortunately it's also a bit buggy cause of 1.6
Clairelenia 9. sep. kl. 13:08
Same =) ... they don't go well together.

That's unfortunate then. The terrain edit tool would have no incompatibility at all and would just be a few KB big in size :( probably super easy to release separately.
ferny  [ophavsmand] 9. sep. kl. 13:07
Hmm yeah im unaware of what that mod even does, just have heard it was designed to work with this. It'd be up to them to add further compatibility if needed.
