So they'll definitely just be decorations when you add them for now. I look forward to seeing them added.
On the note of the actual IR signature I do have a idea I'm going to be testing.
With their Variant code system they've got testing in the works for ships to have different fits even though they're in the same class (knox tested with ciws mk15 instead of sparrow as a example case) that maybe IR signatures could be separated via a similar command line/setup might work then.
It is something i'm intending to tinker with in the ini file and see "IF" i can get something to work.
If I do end up getting it working, I'll send you it via discord if you'd like ^_^ . If I don't get it to work I'll also let you know it didn't work ^_^; .
Normally the V, P, and VP run them mounted as they blow the exhaust up into the down draft from the rotors to help reduce their IR signature and heat trail, that combined with the rear mounted IR Shroud system mounted just behind the rear rotor actually help them when dealing with IR missiles.

People do tend to confuse the newer Mi-35's with the mi-24VP due to them using the gsh-23L as well.
K's were converted V's used for artillery spotting and recon. Usually done as needed and even in field at FOB's so they're more a sub variant field modification.
In regards to the Mi-24VP it is before 1991.
It was developed just after the P.
It is a Mi-24V with the yak-b swapped out with a gsh-23L mounted instead with approximately 450 rounds of ammunition loaded.
Development started 1 year after the P had entered service. So 1982 as the P entered Production in 1981.
25 were managed to be built from 1985 to 1989 before the USSR's collapse, production did restart later in 2005 by the Russian federation.
Would it be possible to add the other variants as well? the P, VP, K, etc.
I can help with the parameter INI files and getting the weapons setup/configured like the VP's chin mounted twin 23mm gun.
