@GraveKnave: The chances of meeting a friend or relative aren't very high, so it's totally possible that the option doesn't show up very often.
In the new version, I added a 50% chance for a social fight to trigger automatically if the request is refused. This can be turned off in the mod settings.
As for another question I received — no, this mod is not like Reunion.
"Ask to Join" adds a contextual interaction during social encounters that allows you to try recruiting a pawn if they are emotionally close to someone in your colony.
Reunion, on the other hand, focuses on long-lost relatives or friends reappearing as events or visitors, and handles the whole reunion scenario differently.
The purpose and mechanics are quite distinct.
