Quite few ore yes, but it is by design not in the starting vicinty. Instead you have to move about 2-3 screens east, south or west to find large deposits. As said, this is intended to encourage the player to expand in one direction, once you clear the path to the ore, then you'll have more than enough till you get to the next of several ore patches (more than you'll ever need actually) that can be found on the map. Remember, this is the largest map size currently available.
@Guy - Glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately, there is not much I can do, with exceptions on the first few weeks where I added a couple of waves, everything else is default.
As anyone else played till round 250 and experienced similar issues?
