Yeah... turns out that these guys came out of Lucas determining that the Ssi-Ruuk were a dead-end, so he came up with having another faction, as yet unknown, simply come in and sweep them aside.

Thing is, their introduction, I've been told first-hand face-to-face at a literature writing meeting some years back- by the guy who wrote the branch of "Star Wars" that they show up in; that was Lucas' idea; they were brainstorming what to do about the Ssi-Ruuk, and every option seemed to be a dead-end for them, so Lucas just plain figured to have these guys come in via a backdoor takeover and just run riot all over the place.

*This* one has the proper spelling for the species' name; weirdly, it is more a name of their particular religion than their species- if you were to *ask them*, had you been able to.
But unless you would want these religiously fanatical aliens to completely flip out: do not shorten it, but be professional.
