Hi everyone! I’d like to ask whether the AI still attacks without siege equipment and ends up dying in front of the fortress walls, or has this issue already been fixed? Thanks!

@Portalkey (Continued) If you're talking about reinforcing armies you've put under AI control specifacally and that's a more complicated answer because siege AI in this game is REALLY silly on Reinforcement AI armies. In theory YES, They do, in practice I've watched 2 full armies of zombies stack up on a single siege tower (when I've had 9 deployed) to send all of their zombies up that tower one at a time. I've also seen them scatter them about to the various towers and gates, split themselves between two towers, or ignore all the towers in general until AFTER I've broken all the gates (Reinforcing Ai REALLY hates it when you leave gates in-tact and will often refuse to do anything until every gate on the map is destroyed. The game is also prone to crashing if you break the gates before all reinforcments reach the field so be careful with that.

@PortalKey Hi! I am in no way associated with this mod but I have been using it quite a bit. The ladders (and vanilla towers) used by this mod function much like normal siege equipment in that any unit (enemy or Ally) can use them freely after they've been deployed. Just click your units onto the walls and they'll automatically allocate themselves onto the appropriate ladders or towers. It'll be wonky sometimes but that's not because of this mod, that's because siege pathfinding around gates,breaches and ladders is REALLY weird and often bad.

I have a question for this mod. If I managed to deployed a siege tower or a ladder on the wall. The other units (for example reinforcements) will they able to climb the deployed siege tower and ladder as well?

I added this mod midgame but it seems it causes some conflicts with another siege improvement mod that cause a bug to build all types of siege equipment all in 1 turn, after that I tried to turn the mod off but it seems impossible to load into saved games without these mods all turned on together...

@NEST-7 the siege beta isn't in the game yet. This mod is still required if you want to play without ladders.

It was pretty funny to have a juiced lord go up to a wall, deploy a ladder and decimate an entire garrison. God what were CA thinking.

Can you make it so the AI get the ram first because when i needed to defend my settlement, the AI only made 1 pair of ladder, nothing else

this mod seems to get my comp crash during some siege battles. either units handdling ladders won't move at the beginning of the battle or new ones takin it back after their last handlers were killed won't move as well

@King Pineapple I meant for Warhammer 3 cycle. I know this thing is at least 10 years or more.
But no more. Ladders are back where they belong. To the pre siege construction menu. Now remove siege attacker trait from all lords and heroes that are not huge wal lsmashing entity, rework garissons itself because they are a joke and good luck defending anything with that trash units. Especially wood elves who has the crappiest garissons.

It seems like the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ change will not allow you to build ladders, very strange!!

I sincerely hope this mod will still allow that if this is the case.

Oh now that you mention it, I had a similar experience. Siege towers are only usable once, all other units need to use the gates

Additionally they all have the skin of vampire coast siege engines.

Having an issue where only the units that are mounting the siege engines (towers, ladders, ram) can use them. After the siege engines have unloaded initial units, other units aren't eligible to use them. Only way to proceed with the siege is to knock down gates and barge in. Anyone else with the same issue? I've tried re-downloading the mod to no avail.

Update to my previous report about multiple ai controlled reinforcing armies causing crashes on maps with limited gates. I am pretty sure I've narrowed down the issue to being caused by the reinforcing armies all arriving at the same time and all trying to calculate how to get their units through the limited gates (this all happening from 3 separate armies at once causes the crash). For anyone else with this super specific problem, This problem can be fixed by forcing the armies to arrive at least 10 seconds apart from each other, Unsure of how one would stop the AI from doing it but considering they'd need 2 separate factions with at least 2 armies each to trigger this, it's unlikely to be a problem.

Please make units carrying ladders move faster, they should not be slower than the siege towers.
