Is it just when you try to start a game in Renaissance (or later), or does it happen when you use a "normal" start and you enter the Renaissance era?
The only mod I can think of that may impact the icon showed for the Haiti leader is the 'leader pass visual adjustments' mod, which makes the leader pass leader's icons less 'glossy' ingame.
Thank you for the reply! :D
Are you using some kind of mod to have the relationships displayed? Because I do not have a "Relationships" entry on this page (even though I met another civ and declared war on it) ??!!

I'm not sure if his icon in the relationships section is dependent on which leader you are interacting with. In my case, it was Chandragupta, and his relationship with Louverture was displayed as though though he was friendly with himself (as the leader icon showed Chandragupta, but hovering over it revealed Louverture's name).
I understand if this is something you don't care to take a look at since it's just a minor inconvenience with another mod, but if you have an idea how to fix this it would be great!
There's an updated version of Leugi's Argentina made by TheOtherOne: "Leugi's Argentina Civilization, RF and GS compatible reupload".
This is just a suggestion: there is also "Tino’s Sun Yat-sen of China" that could be updated.
Do you have plans to update other modded civs for GS? If so, I think Leugi's Argentina, Antagonise's Oirat, or C15's Assyria would be much appreciated ;)
The ethnicity for this civ is set to "ETHNICITY_AFRICAN" - the same in the original mod.
Not sure why it is working in the icons/avatars but not with the actual units on the ground. I will have to take a look at this.
Should be fixed in the new release (#2).
It’s a great initiative. Thank you! However, there is a problem. The image of Toussaint Louverture, as well as most icons of civilization, do not appear when selecting the leader, during loading and during the game...
