God-tier mod, thank you kindly for your work.
Tyrant 25 OCT a las 14:51
Wow, this makes policies a hell of a lot more convenient, thanks.

Hello again!

I've added a way to delete saved policies, cleaned up the policy loading UI, added a couple of other neat features and squashed some bugs.

Buh-bye for now!

Hey everyone!

Sorry for disappearing for a bit, I've been procrastinating on this mod, but I have finally added saving/loading policies! I also fixed some missing translations, if you find any others feel free to post them here.

Right now deleting isn't possible in-game, you can delete saved policies by going to C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Config\BetterPolicies and manually deleting the files there. I'll be adding a way to delete saved policies in-game either tomorrow or later this weekend.

Enjoy the update! :STPWitchNya:

@Dee are you still planning on implementing policy presets across saves? Would be an awesome addition, since Policy Manager isn't updated for 1.6, and AFAIK that's the only mod that adds that feature.

Hey everyone, sorry for the long delay. Exams went well!

The mod seems to work in 1.6. If anyone finds any issues feel free to post a comment here. Looking into adding presets as well ;)

might be useful to u, used to be one of the most core mods about
Dee  [autor] 17 JUN a las 10:02
@Rasperry Sounds like an interesting thing to add! Unfortunately I am quite busy studying for an exam for the next few days, but I'm happy to look into it after that

@ Justacommonegg Same thing here, been busy with exams but after that I will look into implementing it for 1.6
Rasperry 16 JUN a las 12:23
Are you able to make preset policies that you can use across saves? Ive been playing alot of shorter length games lately, and the starting bog of recreating my preferred policies is annoying.
Justacommonegg 12 JUN a las 12:15
o7 (no reordering in 1.6 though)
Dee  [autor] 10 ABR a las 10:50
@Azzkal Okay, my apologies, I wasn't aware of that. You can still use this mod if you don't want any of the other features the other mod also adds.
Dee  [autor] 10 ABR a las 10:49
@Alex

I just tested the mod you mentioned (Human Clothes for Animals/Animal Gear) and it seems to work out of the gate.
Dee  [autor] 10 ABR a las 10:41
@Alex Hey Alex!

Unfortunately the way I setup this mod it means that it'll only work for the 4 vanilla policies in the game (Apparel, Food, Drug, Reading). As of now it will only work with vanilla policies.

I'll take a look at the mod you are mentioning. Maybe adding the mod's functionality to that mod won't be that hard. Fingers crossed! :tobdog:
Alex 9 ABR a las 20:05
hey dee does this work for animals as well? I have animal clothing mod and it always defaults to "anything". Problem is the animals will then wear all my marine armor and shield belts and such. If I have a lot of animals i have to go in every 5 minutes and change all the newborns to a different policy. Any chance this mod will help with that?
Azzkal 7 ABR a las 9:38
Colony groups does same thing
Dee  [autor] 7 ABR a las 6:47
Say you want to switch your default food policy to Simple. Maybe you want to save lavish and fine food, maybe you want only certain pawns in your colony to get nicer food, maybe you don't want prisoners to eat nicer food for some reason.

In vanilla RimWorld the only way you can accomplish this is by changing the default policy itself. This mod allows you to just quickly make another food policy the new default policy thus saving you time.

If you just keep your policies the same throughout the entire game this mod probably won't be that useful. I use policies extensively in my playthroughs and kept finding it annoying I couldn't change the order or change the default policy.
Azzkal 7 ABR a las 6:10
I'm still not clear on why this is necessary? I use colony groups mod to create groups of colonists and set them a separate default policy for food, clothing and other things
Dee  [autor] 7 ABR a las 5:49
You can also look at the GIFs in the description to see how it works in the mod
Dee  [autor] 7 ABR a las 5:48
@Azzkal With this mod you can make a new policy (Clothing, Drug, Food, ...) the default policy and you can switch the order if you'd like to.

I've had moments in past playthroughs where I wanted to change the default clothing or food policy. In vanilla RimWorld this is completely impossible. Same as changing the order of policies.

For what this mod? What it add?
weregamer 8 ENE a las 0:27
It is indeed fixed. Thanks!
Arky 6 ENE a las 11:33
Oh no, an amazing mod.
Xeonzs 6 ENE a las 4:22
All features seem to work correctly for me, also the reading policies section, that's with around 200 mods including rimhud as my main UI changing mod, so if there's issues it's most likely mod-conflict i'd say.
Xeonzs 6 ENE a las 4:08
Imma give this mod a try, I was just wishing for all the things this mod a few days ago, let's hope I don't encounter the issues others mentioned.
VitaKaninen 5 ENE a las 23:00
This is sorely needed if you use animal controls! Every time my new turkeys hatch out, they are on the wrong food policy and starve until I move them over.
Dee  [autor] 5 ENE a las 20:51
Hey, @weregamer. I wasn't able to re-create the problem on the current patch of the mod. On a previous patch there was a major bug which didn't allow you to select any policies if you had dragging enabled.

Try re-installing the mod by unsubscribing and re-subscribing. If you still have issues afterwards feel free to contact me personally by adding me on Steam or by adding another comment :)
Dee  [autor] 5 ENE a las 12:39
@weregamer huh, I didn't really test the reading stuff. I'll check it out tomorrow :]
weregamer 5 ENE a las 12:06
(To be more precise, you can no longer edit reading policies. The "Manage Policies" button for them just shows the list, but when you select one nothing happens. Right-clicking on one also does nothing.)
weregamer 5 ENE a las 11:59
Alas, this mod doesn't work generically enough and cripples new policy types (such as the reading policies added by 1.5!)
J 5 ENE a las 7:35
If somebody will have trouble figuring out how to select a policy when drag & drop is enabled, that’s the mouse wheel. I don’t feel strongly about this, but maybe it can also be added as an option to the context menu?

Thanks for solving this! 👍
UncleRippu 5 ENE a las 6:56
Oooohhhh POLICIES.
i have dyslexia, thought that said politics.
Dante Mundus 5 ENE a las 5:07
vanilla.
Cinders 5 ENE a las 2:29
This should've been vanilla years ago honestly. Thank you!!
Scorpio 5 ENE a las 1:00
wow this is going to be so useful , thanks
Kimo' 4 ENE a las 23:48
Thank you! The game needed this so badly.
