This mod can still do the following:
Change the blood color of either team, including the color of the initial impact effect. Arguably the most useful feature as it allows blood color to be independent of team color.
Override the configured color for a team. Useful for if you happen to have two teams with similar colors going against each other.
Override the configured name for a team. This will change the name in the configuration screen once you return to the menu, but the change is not permanent unless you proceed to save the team config file (thereby overriding the original name).

I also enjoy the split second of the blood being blue before becoming red because it helps me figure out who is who.

Not quite, Vanilla only offers presets while this allows you to input any color and any name.

Just google or search a color wheel and get the codes from there

Just means I have to look up the colors I want and their ID numbers

It's either I use a hex code input or RGB input. In any case, no way to display color in the config menu.
